Hola I add the post i did for the texto "Ouwe", from an elegy poem written by german Walther Von Der Vogelweide (c. 1170-Wurzburgo, c. 1230).

"Owę war sint verswunden alliu mîniu jâr!" would be the original title of a very long poem (like the elegies should be at those middle age times). I let you a capture with translation i found to modern German:


I'm going to quote the last stanza on the best English translation i located:

(...)
Then could I, now but poor, earn yet a gen’rous meed;
Though not with princes’ gold nor lands would I be fee’d.
To wear a heavenly crown – for that I yearn:
Such trophy with his spear a man-at-arms could earn.
Might I across the sea that voyage blest essay,
My song would be ‘oh, joy!’ and no more ‘lack-a-day!’
No more ‘lack-a-day!’
