May 16 & 17 - Best of the KCCC - Volume 1
Since 1998, Discipline Global Mobile has been running a bi-monthly cd club of King Crimson archival material, the King Crimson Collector's Club. This week and next week, I will be collecting the best releases so far.
What started as a subscription only service is now open for sale as individual purchases. But beware, once you start, it will be very hard to stop. I. Live at the Zoom Club (King Crimson) Oct. 13, 1972 This was the debut show of the Larks' band formation of King Crimson. Of the released shows with Jamie Muir, this has to be the best. If the improvs are close to heaven, Zoom must be heaven itself.

Larks' Tongues in Aspic (Part I) - 8:22
Book of Saturday - 3:16
Zoom - 22:03
Improv: Zoom Zoom - 44:48
Easy Money - 4:08
Improv: Fallen Angel - 4:12
Improv: Z'Zoom - 4:48
Exiles - 8:36
The Talking Drum - 6:13
Larks' Tongues in Aspic (Part II) - 8:37
II. Champaign-Urbana Sessions (King Crimson) Jan. 17-30, 1983 This is a collected recording from writing sessions betweem Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair. So, some of the material shows up later on Three of a Perfect Pair. Definitely an interresting listen.

San Francisco - 2:06
Tony Bass Riff - 3:28
Sequenced - 3:55
Steinberger Melody - 4:59
Fragmented - 4:01
Not One of Those - 1:45
Zzzz's - 2:10
Reel 3 Jam - 2:34
Robert and Bill - 2:08
Say No - 2:46
Robert's Ballad - 3:44
Heat in the Jungle - 7:07
Grace Jones - 5:45
Adrian Looped - 1:19
|

Glad you liked it PDK. Next two weeks should be decidedly non-crimso and then I'll do the KCCC Vol 2.
Despite me saying "Curse You" over and over when I read the posts, Yesspaz & Rick are right. I've been a little too crimso focused lately. Maybe I'll just play some Fripp & Eno . . . . |

![]() Actually, I think a string of shows that highlighted the solo stuff of a band all at once would be cool. Something like the KC one above, then two shows that played Howe, Anderson, Wakey, Squire, Sherwood, Rabin, Moraz, etc. A show of Anthony Phillips, Gabriel, the first Collins album, Hackett, Banks, and Mike + The Mechanics. Heck, there's Waters, Gilmour, and Wright. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson (none from Peart or Mason though ![]() Anyway, it's an idea.

This may be extreme, but have you ever thought about playing an entire boxed-set? Whoa!
