New Quiz

Ok, this has been dead for a long time, so here's a simple quiz to get us started again. What do the following artists have in common?

Max Webster
Don Caballero
Chagall Guevara
Jethro Tull
Nathan Mahl
Billy Mahonie
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Joe Club

they all sound like a person, but no one in the band is named after the band (or vice versa)

Correct it is. I was specifically going for "they are bands that are frequently mistaken as solo male artists." Same thing though. Knew that was easy, so take it away Jim.

OK, here's one that's probably too obscure until I think of a more interesting question.

What links Jeff Beck to Happy The Man?

It's basically a one step link, and the answer is an artist not on Aural Moon (though they were played on Aural Moon as a special show at least once)

Not even a guess or a complaint?

Jeff was a guest guitarist on an album by the answer...

You won't find the link on a Jeff Beck album. It's an album by another artist that he guested on.

The Happy The Man link is a song title on the new album. The keyword of the song title is also an album title by the same band Jeff guested on (though he guested on a different album - they only have two that I'm aware of)

You've done everything but give us the answer. My excuse? I just don't know it .

I only mentioned two new songs...one is the title cut, can't be that easy....so it must be Lunch at the Psychadelicatessin (sp again ).

So the keyword....is THE!

Spaz gets it....

Bingo!

Jeff Beck plays a killer guitar solo on the song "Skinthieves", on the album "Moodfood"; I played the entire disc on the one night I filled in between Tommy's Extended Play and The Rickter Scale....

Spaz' quiz:

Why is it that band's Spaz donated to the Moon get associated with the icons for vomit and horse manure? Probably because Spaz is good for taking a ribbing. That's a correct answer Spaz. You get to give the next quiz.

Next quiz:

Um..., Prog math. These should be easy. Get all five before you answer.

A. 1 Buggle + 1 Yes + 1 King Crimson + 1 ELP = ?? Band ??
B. 1 Led Zepellin + 1 King Crimson + 2 Iona = ?? Song Title ??
C. 1 Primus + 1 Police + 1 Phish = ?? Band ??
D. ?? Band ?? - 1 Planet X = ?? Band and their main bands ??
E. 1 Yes + 1 Soft Machine + 1 Roxy Music + King Crimson = ?? Band ??

"Leafy Meadows" is the first song on John Paul Jones' album The Thunderthief. The song featured a guitar solo by Bob Fripp. Iona's Nick Beggs played Chapman Stick on that song and another, "Shibuya Bop." Finally, Iona's Terl Bryant did all the drums and percussion on the album. So "Leafy Meadows" is Iona's rhytm section with Fripp and JPJ. BTW, it freaking rawks and is in the AM playlist for requesting .
