Nearfest hotels

Saw a shout in the black box about possibly gathering at the Comfort Suites on Sat PM. Wanted to clear up some confusion.

I will be at the Comfort Inn, a rag tag place several miles north of Bethlehem. The Comfort Suites is right in town, and is a different hotel. I was at the Suites the past two years, but it's been cordoned off from the "public"

Where is everyone else staying?

Re: Nearfest hotels

Well I got the "Inn" part right... I will not be at the Comfort Inn, but rather the Days Inn Conference Center.

Lookin' forward to livin' in luxury at the ol' 2-star hotel!

At least I get to rock out in style on the balcony!

You're part of the reason that the Suites were closed out in the first place!!!

As for hotels, I am at the Best Western Hotel at the intersection of Rt 22 and Rt 512.

Those travelling from PHL airport and points south.

Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike North East Extension (I-476) to the Allentown exit (#55). Then take Rt 22 east to Rt 348. Do not get off at the Quakertown exit and onto Rt. 309 as the NEARfest page directions tell unless you like lots of traffic lights and travelling through slow construction zones.

Also, if you do take the NE extension to Exit 55, there is a rest area just prior to the exit. If you stop in there, find the free booklet available there for Lehigh Valley attractions. There a good map of streets for Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton as wellas the whole Lehigh Valley. FWIW, when you exit the PA TPK NE Ext. at Exit 55, you will pass over Rt. 309 less than 1/2 mile from the exit east bound. Makes no sense to take the stop and go Rt 309 route to NF.

I am picking up Dr. • at PHL. I'm then taking this route to NEARfest with a detour up Rt. 309 to Rt. 873.

This map, http://tinyurl.com/llmhx shows were I was born and raise with reference to Rt 22 and the PA TPK NE Ext. Neffs, Pa is were I lived. We will drop my brat off with my mom and then, head from there to Bethlehem.

My cell phone number is: 732.979.PINT (7468)
Martha's cell phone number is: 848.525.9471 (ZIP1)

Call if you need any LV navigational help.

Nadina, IIRC, is staying at the other hotel at Rts 22 & 512.

Excellent directions and information......

As for the comment, that is simply not true. My friend Ed Stephens booked 20rooms at the end of last Nearfest, anticipating the dates of the next year's fest.

Rob LaDuca had a fit, but eventually worked it out the way he wanted to. He just wanted to make sure the bands had places.

I am good friends with Ed but knew nothing about his booking of the rooms.

He was able to get three rooms this year. Not sure how he did it, but I was prepared to stay elsewhere.

Didn't Ed get you a room at Rosfest (or last Nearfest)? I know it was one of them.....
