Show 97 - "Magenta Moon"
Really swamped this week, so not much posting....just the facts -
I'll be playing the entire latest release from Magenta, "Home". I like "Seven" better, but there's some great moments on here. It's a two-disc set - first disc is 67 minutes and the second disc is 40 minutes. In between, I'll play the 2005 release by Moon Safari, "A Doorway To Summer". Produced by Tomas Bodin, it's smooth and relaxing. Clocks in at 60 mintues. The particulars: Magenta - Disc 1 - Home (2006) This Life Hurt Moving In My Home Town (Far Away) Brave New Land The Journey Tower of Hope Demons Morning Sunlight Joe The Dream The Visionary Journey's End The Traveller's Lament Home Shorter songs, more theme oriented. A change of pace for the band. "Joe" is longer, and a classic. Moon Safari - A Doorway To Summer (2005) Doorway Dance Across The Ocean A Sun of Your Own We Spin The World Beyond the Door Long songs ("Spin" clocks in at 25 minutes), it can get slow at times. But it's a pleasant listen. they will be at Rosfest next year. Magenta - Disc 2 - New York Suite (2006) Arrival Home From Home White Lies Truth This Life (Reprise) Now this disc is vintage Magenta...Yes and Genesis ripoffs, longer, vibrant and brilliant songs. A treat in the style of "Seven" or "Revolutions". Check out the guitar lead on "Truth". It's a Gilmour clone from "Dogs". That guitar lead should have been retired - no one should be allowed to play it. But that's why I love Magenta...they CARE. Last edited by Rick and Roll : 09-06-2006 at 09:21 PM. |

Re: Show 97 - "Magenta Moon"
This is spooky. It never dawned on me that I'd be playing this Magenta record on 9/11................
