Bridging The Gap - A music and film presentation series that combines a live musical performance from RARE BLEND with a silent film from the Age of the Silver Screen. BTG stretches 90 years with the hopes of revitalizing this unique type of performance art and generate a new respect for our early attempts of cinema with a modern musical approach. The series features four films including Phantom of the Opera, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, Metropolis, and Maciste In Hell.

Phantom of the Opera - 1925: The majestic Paris Opera House rises high above the catacombs, the long forgotten dungeons and torture chambers of the city of Paris. Lon Chaney gives his greatest performance as the Phantom, the vengeful composer who wears a mask to hide his hideous deformed face. His love for a young prima Donna takes a sinister turn when he abducts her and carries her away to his lair in the depths of the catacombs. The unmasking of the Phantom is one of the most chilling and unforgettable moments in motion picture history.

That is cool! I've seen them a few times at Orion...that sounds like fun...if I lived near there. Actually on 10/20 I'll be in Tennessee, close enough.

Re: Rare Blend Performs to Phantom of The Opera

The San Diego Symphony will be playing the original soundtrack to the silent RobinHood with Douglas Fairbanks at Symphony Hall here in Feb. If anyone is in town at the time, I recommend seeing this performance.
