a couple of website questions

howdy, Vax, especially!

I was going to ask a question in the Website portion of the forums, but it told me I don't have the permission to do so (so that's my second question!): the Homepage link at the bottom of each page is now some sort of javascript thingy. I used to be able to right-click and open in a new tab, and now I only get a "copy link" possibility. just curious, as now I have to open a new tab and paste in the link, rather than the easy way. not as efficient, anymore.

not a biggie, but I was wondering.

thanks for all the work you do for the moon, Vax.

I'm using FireFox and when I right click on the link I get a menu that includes the choice "This Frame". That's now where I find the "open in new tab" choice.

Re: a couple of website questions

I used to get that in nearly every browser I tried (and I'm a browser junkie!), but it doesn't work in Safari anymore.

I'll try a couple and see what I get.

ok: the right-click still works in iCab (4.0.1), but no go for me in FireFox 2.0.0.12-I'm remembering that there's a FF update, I'll run it and see what I get.). nope, no go in 2.0.0.13.

You can please some of the people none of the time and none of the people all of the time...

From the main page, you can get to the forum 3 ways:
  1. In a frame on the main page
  2. In the same window as the main page
  3. in its own separate window

One complaint was that the link you are speaking of would cause the main page to be opened in a frame on the main page if the forum was opened in a frame.

Another complaint was that one had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the forum to return to the main page. I recently added a link back at the top of the forum. If you haven't noticed, there is now an Earth/Sunrise graphic at the top of the page. If you mouseover it, it becomes the moon. Click on this takes you back to the main page.

I implemented the two links with the same code which now returns all three forum opening schemes to the main page.

I would offer that you open the forum from the main page in a tab if you plan on tabing back and forth between the main page and the forum.

As for your second question, I wasn't aware that the web site forum was closed. I'll check into it.

thanks, Vax. all cool and reasonable, though it just makes me dislike frames even more....
