Aural Moon conference in Japan
Yesterday we Japanese Moonies (kazuhiro and DamoXt7942) have had a wonderful rendezvous in Tokyo so here's a report of this meeting.
There are maybe more Japanese Moonies than we think, and we wanna say let's get some conferences and make some discussions to all AM members near us. On Saturday, January 10th at 8AM Eastern Standard Time...in Japan it was very cold but clear night. Only for four hours' movement leaving Okayama for tokyo, I rode an express in a hurry after work. Cold and strong wind blew and it was a bit hard attack for me after the movement but no matter. Yea...naturally no matter...because it was our first rendezvous in Tokyo. What a fantastic night! Arriving at the Yurakucho station, our meeting could come soon. It was no need I wore a jacket printed "Damo" on my front side. ![]() Kazu and I, could easily find each other. I suppose we both should have an AM aura. ![]() Kazu was a nice guy like ME ( ![]() I suggest this was the first Japanese AM conference. Folks, is it correct? In an underground bar I've often visited, we made Cheers and drank some whisky. (Ah, of course, my faves.) Kazu might be a little bewildered with the atmosphere of the underground bar but soon could become familiar. His knowledge of music was broader than mine and it was very amazed we could go into the progressive rock world in the same way. Once in Japan there was a collection of progressive rock records released by King Records and the collection had many kinds of progressive rock artists and albums. Many, many CDs were released for a short time...P.F.M., Osanna, Atoll, Banco, Heldon, Museo, Celeste, Cherry Five... In King Records there was a great salesman and prog-reviewer. His name was Hiroshi Takami. We laughed and laughed that we both were INGENIOUSLY suggested by him and bought lots of progressive rock albums...and that was our beginning. It was very interesting but only natural we both were very surprised and shocked at the greatness of Atoll's "L'Araignee-Mal" on our first listening. Sadly, we could make some discussions about progressive rock and Aural Moon for a very short while...only two hours, because we met about 10PM Japan Standard Time. We promised revisiting and re-meeting there and said goodbye. Midnight in Tokyo it was colder and colder... Thank you Kazu san and see you next time, and if possible, let's go to Mecca of progressive rock together. ![]()

So sorry Vax.
We tried to take a pic by my cellphone but it was too dark and there was no flash so the trial failed... Next meeting we'll try again. Please wait. ![]()

Make plans to come to ROSfest in May for the largest gathering of moonies. Moonies meeting moonies, it doesn't get any better.

Re: Aural Moon conference in Japan
Excellent Damo and Kazu san... it is so very nice to know that Aural Moon is not only globally connecting people through music, but it is acting as an avenue for those on the same wavelength to physically meet.
I agree with the other posters... the next meeting should have some photos... we would love to see you all.

Re: Aural Moon conference in Japan
The first conference was very significant for damo san with me. Damo san wrote details of the meeting here. I think it to be glad.
The impact very his talent and knowledge for me. I think that I have an outlook on music original as for people in other countries perhaps. However, we Japanese take and the music character and the culture have the culture in other countries without. Our first time almost had the topic for aural moon and prog rock. With various topics we will meet in addition next time, it can be offered to people of aural moon. And, other people will learn the activity to prog rock we Japanese. And, I am wishing that it is reflected in aural moon without fail. Of course, the photograph will actually be published next time. Is it interesting?

Re: Aural Moon conference in Japan
Lucky guys, it is great to meet with like minded folk. My life has never been the same since meeting with keithiW and RM at SEFest. The therapy is still going well but the threat of SEfest 2009 looms on the horizon!! I hope to be going to Japan later this year if invited again and its not too far from Tokyo, keep a seat warm for me and plenty of Saki. 良い者人

Re: Aural Moon conference in Japan
In addition, Keithie and eloy1964 express gratitude for your comments. Progger excluding us a lot exists in Japan. I live in Tokyo. And, some special shops exist for prog rock. And, information is sent. Some CD that I had contributed to aural moon was bought in those shops. Please wait for the detailed process until the next chance. I wish that damo san also cooperates perhaps.
P.S Jtm>You are an expert of "anime" of Japan. If you hope, I will be able to offer information in near future "akihabara".

Re: Aural Moon conference in Japan
Hey! Lupin III!
Good on ya for gettin' together in Tokyo. No such thing like underground bars here in SW Virginia. Enjoy! I haven't heard of many of those bands mentioned. Maybe that can get into the AM collection somehow? |

![]() Content of conversation in conference and the place to which we went in Tokyo. Or, it is musical that I proposed with another thread. I will contribute by them and contribute everything for aural moon to be significant.
