The Arcade Fire

Hey all. This is not a recommendation for the AM library, but may be one for your personal collection. Every time I go to the home page and see the newly added Arctic Fire, I have to catch myself because I think Jim added Arcade Fire.

Anyway, they're not prog, but are a very creative band, using lots of instrumentation, sort of creepy-paranoid-David Bryne-esque-vocals, and a LOT of passion. They're a very cathartic band. U2 came out to the refrain from their song "Wake Up" at the opening of their Vertigo tour (like Yes with Firebird Suite). Their album "Neon Bible" was a critical and commercial success and is very, very good. Again, they're not prog, but very creative and very athemic.

Re: The Arcade Fire

I have Neon Bible and it is a FINE album. I briefly considered it as an add, and I agree with Spaz that it is not prog but quite possibly worthy of attention from prog fans. Check it out on Amazon and listen to the sound clips to see if you agree...
