July 25 & 26 - Popular Dadaists
Here's a collection of mostly random, mostly prog, musically schizoid fun. While not everything here is 100% straight from the prog bible (yech, stuffy!), it’s most definitely moon-worthy. This show has been coming for a while . . . .
I. Mr. Bungle (Mr. Bungle) 1991 Mike Patton is a weird bastard (but he likes his Zappa). Don't expect straight Zappa, but there's a weird kinda ska-funk pop-metal thing goin on here. This is the best example of this week's theme. According to legend, Mike once pissed in his boot on stage and then drank it. Yeah, people also claimed to see Frank Zappa eat feces on stage. Please Note: (This is not an album for children or listening to at work. Look at the song titles.)

Quote Unquote - 6:56
Slowly Growing Deaf - 6:59
Squeeze Me Macaroni - 5:38
Carousel - 5:13
Egg - 10:38
Stubb (A Dub) - 7:19
My Ass Is on Fire - 7:47
The Girls of Porn - 6:42
Love Is a Fist - 6:01
Dead Goon - 10:02
II. Implatical Leptitude (Brian-Kenney Fresno) 1996 Fun Chapman Stick Insanity! Brian's quite liberal, but the music is absoloutely amazing (and no, it's not his politics that make it schizo).

Rumplestiltskin - 5:07
Donnerybeck's Machine - 2:51
Shopping For Jewels - 6:56
Too Much Coffee - 2:10
Implatical Leptitude - 9:11
III. The Grand Pecking Order (Oysterhead) 2001 Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool, & Stewart Copeland? Who's next Les Claypool, Adrian Belew, & Danny Carey (yeah, I know)?

Little Faces - 4:57
Oz Is Ever Floating - 2:49
Mr. Oysterhead - 4:50
Shadow of a Man - 3:44
Radon Balloon Anastasio - 3:20
Army's on Ecstasy - 4:31
Rubberneck Lions - 5:16
Polka Dot Rose - 3:10
Birthday Boys - 3:05
Wield the Spade - 5:48
Pseudo Suicide - 4:53
The Grand Pecking Order - 2:35
Owner of the World - 2:44
Last edited by Extended Play : 07-21-2004 at 11:46 PM. |

![]() Oysterhead. Heck yeah! The bass solo in the middle of "Mr. Oysterhead" is truly one of the greater moments of music from 2001.
And for the record, Psuedo Suicide is scheduled to play on BrainRock in the near future. This is one great album.
