Going off at a Tangent to Jethro Tull
I just read this article by The Tangent's Guy Manning about his memories of "A Passion Play".
It's interesting for me as I was at the Wembley Gigs in 1973 and he bought the memories flooding back. I had forgotten the Telephone on the side of the stage that rang when everything was over.............. Thank you Guy. That was a blast to read!!!!!! Hope my moon Buds enjoy it too. http://po90.com/tangent/passionplay.htm |

Re: Going off at a Tangent to Jethro Tull
To be honest, that was about sixteen years before I was born, but I'm an avid Tull fan. I had APP going on the iPod earlier this afternoon, and it's still a blast to listen to, no matter what generation the listener is from. Now, if I could only get that Lead Zeppelin in the back yard off the ground...

Re: Going off at a Tangent to Jethro Tull
GREAT STUFF KW!
i learned to play the flute due to tull's influence. the hardest part was learning to play in a style that didn't sound like a complete swipe of ian's. after playing for awhile, i came to realize that Ian's hand positioning (being self-taught) was incorrect! Bouree was much easier when i moved the R hand off position. kirk

Re: Going off at a Tangent to Jethro Tull
On Television I Have a High-Definition Channel INHD2. On It is A series of ISLE OF WHITE CONCERTS from '68 on. The Episode featuring Tull is so unbelievable! He truly mastered the flute like Hendrix the guitar!!!!!!! Bowie, The Who and many more Highlight these 90 minites episodes, each featuring one festival.

Re: Going off at a Tangent to Jethro Tull
hey sharc-you're a man after my own....pacemaker!
..42 in.plasma w/ HD service, klipsch towers and infinity surround! i'm beginning to learn to mix in 5.1, i may have to draft you as a test subject. no "H", "isle of Wite". that was incredible! these and the nature/IMAX shows on sunday are worth the price alone. p e a c e kirk

Re: Going off at a Tangent to Jethro Tull
Try Red Bull. It helps my spelling quite a bit.
Now back on-topic, I really really want to get more Tull albums. *sighs and looks at his little stack of Tull, and dreams of a day where he can afford to own a copy of every Tull CD released.* |

I'm working on finding A Passion Play, but when you're 50 miles from the nearest decent music store, and iTunes doesn't carry Tull, things are bad. |
