Camel's new album!

As some of you may know, probably know, surely know, Camel releases a new album (supposed to be today, July 29th!).

It's called "A Nod and a Wink" and I just can't wait to grab it... But there's one thing I don't know...

Camel releases their album on their own label : Camel Productions... Will it take ... years (!) before it even reaches this Canada? Do we absolutely have to order it? ... I have no ideas about how these small independant labels work!

I don't know much about Camel Productions, but indie labels are just that, independent. Distribution deals are a pain, as they are literally hundreds upon hundreds of different cd sellers out there, from Best Buy, Camelot, FYE, Coconuts, Tower, Bebop, and other major stores, to Wal-Mart and Target, to every towns two or three indie stores, to Amazon.com, cdnow.com, cdcellar.com, and many, many more.

As I recently did with The Seventy Sevens new ep, appropriately titled "Direct," the easiest thing to do is to order it from their web-site.

Getting it directly from the label is, of course, always the fastest way! But it's not a possibility for me right now! (I don't use credit cards.. yet.. seems I'll have to!)

But what makes me really wonder is that, I can find "Rajaz" and other more recent Camel albums in music stores of Quebec City quite easily (of course, not in my lost town), and these albums were released on the Camel Productions Label... Anyway...

contact the vendor

If you know the exact store that you've seen the other Camel Productions cds at, then, of course, it means that they can get it. All you need to do is call that particualr store and ask them to get a copy of it for you, and they will, because a sale is a sale. Stores love to do that kind of thing. Builds "customer loyalty."

Good luck. I'm currently trying to find the pre-order only ep by Tarentel. They're on some tiny Canadian label and it was a pre-order only thing. X number of people pre-ordered, and they printed that exact number. So, it was out of print the day it was printed! I saw one go on eBay for $40 US. $40 for an ep is a little out of my budget, but I know your pain of wanting a cd and can't get a hold of it.

Anyway!

If someone else here is a Camel fan (if I can call myself a "fan", still only have 4 albums but, boy do I love them!), and finally gets his hands on "A Nod and a Wink", I'd like to hear his comments!
