Incase anyone's interested, here's the official PR about the CD: MOOCH DR SILBURY’S LIQUID BRAINSTEM BAND Released Midsummer Day 2007 Ambientlive Records: www.ambientlive.com Mooch were founded on April 4, 1992 by SF author Steve Palmer. Since their inception they have released a number of psychedelic space-rock albums: Postvorta (1993), 3001 (1994), Starhenge (1995), In Search Of The Acid Metal Grille (1999), Flight Of The Dub Voyager (2005) and Gaiaspace (2006). The new album, Dr Silbury’s Liquid Brainstem Band, was begun in 2006, though some tracks began as early as 2004. The recordings are different to anything so far produced by Mooch, not least because a good proportion of the songs have vocals. Also, the music is more rock orientated than usual. It is a double CD with over an hour of music on each disk; and it is a psychedelic concept album, each track representing a “version” of Dr Silbury’s band, grabbed from alternate universes by the good doctor. This is an album too of collaborations; with Bridget Wishart, vocalist with Hawkwind 1989-90 and singer on that classic of space-rock Space Bandits, who sings on three songs, co-writing two of them. She also plays clarinet and saxophone. The other vocalist is Chris Gill of Band Of Rain. Also collaborating is the American space-rock violinist Cyndee Lee Rule. Another American, long-time collaborator Don Falcone, plays keyboards on a track; one of his colleagues, Jon Weber, provides a speaking part, while Karen Anderson provides a vocal. Also collaborating are drummer Damien Redmond, the British synth musician Jez Creek, and the Glastonbury-based didgeridoo player Paul Dunmore. So come on a journey to increasingly alternative versions of the good doctor’s band: the rock band, the dub band, the ‘sixties band, the psychedelic band, the space-rock band, the Berlin School band, the electronic band, and, finally, the alien band… Links to ambientlive sales pages:- www.ambientlive.com/albums/drsilbury.htm www.ambientlive.com/albums/drsilbury_limited.htm ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() I have front row center seats but I will likely be running about with my camera. If you see a butt length ponytailed guy with a pricey bit of Japanese jewelry (Canon camera typically with a huge white 28-300mm lens) about his neck, it's a pretty sure bet that'll be me.

Re: hello
Hey Cyndee - great to hear from you (I've been missing from here, too, so at least this is a good time to say hi). Going to NF? See you there.

Re: hello
We have one extra song with LOTS of Viper on it that didn't make it
onto the new Mooch album. It's a cover of Hawkwind's "Hall of the Mountain Grill". If you'd like a free mp3 of this tune, just email me at: violincyndee@ yahoo.com |
