Artist Information Repository?

I wonder what people think about having a section of the forum devoted (one thread per band) to our collective information on acts, their discographies, live performances, lineups and so on. This can feature the necessary reverence, outright drooling, pix and links to external info (so long as there's the right to post the same).

I realize that reviews are potentially contentious. After all, appreciation of art is to some extent fundamentally subjective (even if we all agree that X is a talentless cacophony - someone will still *like* it).

Are we a collection of old (and young) Gits who know nothing?
.. or is the AM listenership a repository of gems about the music we love?
