One of my favorite albums of all time is Memory Serves by Material. This came out in the early 80s. It has some of the best bass playing you will ever hear. Bill Laswell is on bass (before he started getting weird) and Fred Frith on guitar. I remember Downbeat magazine saying (when they used to cover fusion) it was one of the best recordings of the year. If you can get this album (may be difficult) you will be rewarded with some excellent material - pun intended.

I agree wholeheartedly,,,,,, Laswell on that album is awesome, even if AM can not find that CD, they should consider any of their other early albums as well!
