Hi everyone !! music Suggestion
I imagine I'm not the first to say that but wouldn't it be great if we could have a bit of prog metal, like Symphony X, Opeth, that type of stuff ?

I'm up for some Opeth. I wouldn't mind seeing some Meshuggah either. I'm not a big fan of Symphony X, however.

maybe Andromeda would fit too. Quite proggy music. A metal day once in a while would be good. like once a month

![]() I think that the fusion of the progressive and metal is a delicate subject. I love Heavy Metal, not so the melodic, but I think that it doesn´t fit well in this progressive radio. It may be alter the main proposal of the radio. yesterday we heard Rapsody (...)...weird.

Neither Avian nor myself are big fans of prog metal - so it's unlikely that we'll be adding much that falls into that category. Occasionally I find something good that is called prog-metal - I kind of like some of Pain Of Salvation's stuff - but it will be rare...

Dance on a Volcano
I like Vanila's assessment of this as a delicate subject. It is very hard to discuss this without pigeonholing or stereotyping.
My core favorite music is rock. It could be very simple or complicated. But what I like about Aural Moon is that I can hear music that has some substance. Progressive music is quite varied. For that matter, so is "metal". I consider the great metal acts really an extension of hard rock. Using that as a basis, I find "prog metal" very limiting. It's very specific, and bands such as Pain of Salvation are the exception rather than the norm. I saw Ice Age and Braindance (who has a very good first record) at prior festival shows, and they were very good. But it doesn't hold up over time. Like this new fusion of rap and rock - a good thought, but for the most part done with little effort. In this realm, bands like System of A Down and Evanescence are OK but again, exception rather than norm. Then there are bands like Tool who I really dig but probably will never fit the Moon. My suggestion is to start a specific thread for each band, with some specific ideas. The once a month idea has merit, but I would do that within the framework of specific programming, like Gnosis or Extended Play. |

I' m okay with that, and i also agree that most of the prog metal isn8t that good but that can be said about all types of music can't it ?
As for Rhapsody, it's actually quite cheesy in my opinion. but for example liquid tension experiment or stuff like that would fit the radio, in special shows. in an other genre i find it a bit sad that we can't listen to the magnificent, brilliant Keith Tippett. |

We have all of Liquid Tension Experiment's music that I'm familiar with. We have some music that would be considered "heavy", but like I said, most things that are categorized as "metal" won't make it onto AM - I remain open-minded, but I must go by my tastes and instincts.
Is that Paris, France, Sharuru? One of my favorite places on the planet... |

Well I actually traveled -maybe not "a lot" but...
Anyway some keith Tipett would really be nice. If you don't know him, it's a canterbury guy, he also worked with Crimson King... |

Hey that would be really cool.
you could get the album named "Dedicated to you but you weren't listening", which is really great, or "You are here, I am there" which is great too, altoygh lot more calm.
