Rickter Scale - Show 200

airing Sunday, October 26 from 8-11 PM EST and Monday, October 27 from 1-4 PM EST

Since this week the show number is a nice round figure, I thought I'd play just an old-fashioned radio show, no theme, just some of my favorite tracks over the years. Predominately older music, and not many passing 7-8 minutes - with the notable exception of "Ice" which is over 13.

I like a lot of music, and there are many many bands old and new that are not included on this show. While almost of the tracks are my favorites by the respective artists, in no way are they exclusive. There is so much music out there and to play some for you every week is a pleasure.

Each song holds a special meaning in one way or another, and the stories are much too involved and boring to go into - hopefully, you'll go back and play some of your favorites that get forgotten under the weight of so many great artists and music that's come out in the last 15-20 years.

Gamalon - Bleecker St.
Jean-Luc Ponty - Far from the Beaten Paths
XTC - King For A Day
Jethro Tull - Minstrel In The Gallery
Steve Hackett - Every Day
Kate Bush - Cloudbusting
Ambrosia - Holdin' On To Yesterday
Dada - Mary Sunshine Rain
Focus - Birth
Elton John - Where To Now St. Peter?
Yes - Siberian Khatru
Saga - You're Not Alone
FM - Seventh Heaven
Hot Tuna - Water Song
Oingo Boingo - Just Another Day
Ronnie Montrose - Rocky Road
Peter Gabriel - San Jacinto
Happy Rhodes - Collective Heart
Crack the Sky - Ice (Live)
Salem Hill - Beings
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Visionary Mountains
King Crimson - Discipline
Joe Jackson - You Can't Get What You Want ('Til You Know What You Want) (Live)
If - Follow That With Your Performing Seals
Sugarloaf - Green-Eyed Lady
Steve Tibbetts - Ur
Gentle Giant - In A Glass House
David Bowie - Wild Is The Wind

The next 200 shows starts next week with selections from 2008, and the week after we have songs pertaining to a certain animal...

Hi, Rick.

Every week thanks.
Next your show will be 200th anniversary, so I think it's OK you can push your favorite-muzik-colour.

Your choise sounds like a winner. Keep up your passion.

Re: Rickter Scale - Show 200

Congratulations on 200 shows Rick - I've heard probably the last 80 or so and they are, without doubt, one of the absolute highlights of my week.

The moon, and your show especially, has introduced me to more new music than you can shake an Amazon CD order at. Roll on the next 200 shows!!!!

Re: Rickter Scale - Show 200

About 20 minutes before the show ended I lost connection to the Moon. I just wanted to say thank you to the listeners over the past four years. You're the best.

I'll keep doing the show as long as time permits...
