COTM - #351 - Weather Report (Encore show #77)

Greetings Mooniverse.

As the America watches as Hurricane Matthew rolls up the Southern Eastern Coast of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina I want to send all our thoughts to everyone involved or swept up in the storms path.

As the tie-in, I imagine many people are watching the progress of the storm through weather websites or reports. I thought it might be a good time to play one of my own Weather Reports.

Back in 2012, I played show #77 - Weather Report Live and Unreleased. It is an excellent compilation by the group and should help folks get through this night and later next week.

Again, my heart goes out to those on our east coast. And if you find that you will be in the path of the storm - GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! Flee to higher ground.

I am including the original post about this show below.

Hello Fusion Fanatics of the Corner.

I found a very nice album for your enjoyment this week. We will sit in on concerts by Weather Report that were recorded during several tours between 1975 and 1983. They are compiled on a 2002 release titled WEATHER REPORT: LIVE AND UNRELEASED.

The album is chock full of tasty fusion masterpieces and surprises. One of the sweetest tracks is a 6:00 solo piece by bass master Jaco Pastorius. But you'll find favorites like Black Market and Night Passage along with a very nice rendition of the Miles Davis classic In A Silent Way.

Unfortunately, because of time constraints I will have to skip about 20 minutes of music because there is well over 2 hours of music on this double disc.

Here's a link to a few reviews: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=8020

I look forward to seeing you at the Corner of the Mooniverse.
