T.J. Kirk

I have two T.J. Kirk cds and it just occurred to me (after hearing a Roland Kirk song on Gnosis) that they're progressive. It's a band with 3 guitarists and a drummer. (One of the guitars is an 8-string bass/guitar combo deal.) Their thing is to do the works of Thelonious Monk, James Brown, and Roland Kirk. While none of those artists are particularly progressive (well maybe Monk and Kirk somewhat), they often switch between songs and artists at breakneck speed and fluid grace.

The best I can find for a website is at http://www.charliehunter.com/
(he's the 8-string guitarist)

Since we're expanding more and more into the fusion realm (which I think is fantastic), these guys may well be worth a look.
