er...no, actually the Bearing Straits, between the villages of North Dogsled and Dewlap, Alaska. Named after Willfred Ball, inventor of the Ball Bearing.

As R&R pointed out it was Vitus Bering the Danish explorer who found the straits. But remember he is born in my home town of HORSENS. Don't forget that Dot. Or you wil be sent back to school!
