Amazing. I think they just got better and better from Presto to Vapor Trails! Exactly the opposite from your assessment.

SAM recognizes album titles as distinct fields from the artist, so when you add a cover to a track, then upload it, then "apply to album" you will apply the cover to any track from an album with that name. So when Roger.Lee added Styx II, he added to album and it labeled every track from every album named II. When you go to add covers to albums, you can de-select the ones that are actually different albums. I can fix this after PSHores is off. Not a problem.

Yeah, I found out that it sees all "II" the same when I added a cover like that by accident from some other two-albums with the same name, having to fix one. Can't remember now what they were. I know that both King Crimson and Mike Oldfield have an "Islands" but that wasn't it. Something like that though.

Anyway, the proper covers have been restored on all albums named "II."

I wonder is it possible to reset the thread every so often, say every two months, without actually deleting the thread. I mean I'm on page 8 right now.

The mod can do it, but I don't know if it'd be worth the effort. Why would you want to know what was added in March of 2003? or June of 2004?

The list of all songs is the request list, so only the new adds are "news." As per finding new artists by looking at "old new adds" - how's that different than scrolling the playlist or just listening to the Moon and making note of interesting stuff? Just curious.

And I think that a read-only recent add list is a phenomenal idea. All it takes is for Roger.Lee to be the mod and he lock the thread. New adds come along, unlock, add post, relock.

Actually, we don't have all of Flying In A Blue Dream - I left off a few songs that I felt were un-prog. Big Bad Moon being one, and maybe 2 or 3 others. I have more Satriani which I will add, just keeps slipping through the cracks.

Innuendo, I uploaded less than half of it. I feel the songs I chose are reasonably proggish. The title track has Steve Howe playing that flamenco guitar, therefore it must be prog, right?

on the kate Bush (Red Shoes), I left off 3 songs that I felt were too pop for the moon. There were probably 2 others that JUST made it. Program Director's prerogative...

yep, Constellation was cut. It was one of those several on the cusp...

IZZ are cool, I like them. Stylistically similar to Spock's beard (with Neal), but I like IZZ better - their sound is more integrated than SB. How many more CDs do they have?

What is Queen Pre Ordained??? Some kind of compilation? Say it ain't so! I can't find anything by that title. As far as I know, "Innuendo" was the last record - please say it's not a compilation, that would be weak.

Enlighten me!
I AM Jim and there's no "E" in Univers Zero.

Queen "Pre-Ordained" is a brand new release of material that pre-dates the first album. All of it was recorded between 1969 and 1973. I found it to be interesting, and fairly progressive.

Rick, on Izz and "integrated", what I was referring to is that SB (to me) is pop with progressive instrumental breaks inbetween, whereas Izz integrates pop and progressive into a coherent whole. It is truly progressive pop, whereas SB is pop, then progressive, then pop, then progressive.

What I like about Tres Lunas is that it doesn't sound like every other Oldfield release. There's a sameness to his sound (to me) which means I like any of his albums, but I need space between listens.

Same thing about the Journey, though that one was pretty interesting in it's own right. Nice mix of the orchestra/strings and Schon's guitar. It got cheesy in one or two places, and I did leave one song out (sounded like sappy pop to me), but overall a fine effort.

we did have several versions of Siberian Khatru on the playlist, just not the studio version. Don't ask me why, that predates my time here.

Did I not upload Matthew Parmenter like I thought I did, or did you forget to mention it? Or is there some other more sinister explanation?

I actually had nothing to do with Opeth being added. Based on the little I've heard of them (Inlcuding snippets of "Damnation"), I'm not interested in them...
