I didn't realize Grace Under Pressure WASN'T in the library! Now if we can just convince him to add Presto and Counterparts...
Grace Under Pressure was here, but it predated me and was ripped at 64K - i.e. BAD quality. I just re-ripped it off of my CD.

More Popol Vuh is likely. I would call them my favorite Krautrock band, keeping in mind I put Tangerine Dream in their own category.

No need for donations of Presto - I have it; or Counterparts - I used tohave it and traded it in I liked it so little. And I pretty much NEVER trade in CDs... Point being I'm not likely to add it.

RnR - what Tull are we missing? I think we have most of the prime stuff. I know we're missing Under Wraps, which I don't think much of...

From memory, I think we have:

Stand Up, Living In The Past, Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, Passion Play, War Child, Minstrel In The Gallery, Too Old To Rock and Roll, Songs From The Wood, Heavy Horses, Stormwatch, A, Crest Of A Knave, Rock Island, Roots To Branches, J-Tull Dot Com, and I think there's one more really old one (Stand Up/This Was era, but I'm spacing on the title) on the list -- Benefit!

hehehehe

haven't had this much morning forum activity in awhile.

Yes, the DT additions are individual tracks. They are a subset of those Tommy (he of Extended Play fame) hand picked awhile ago. I pared a few out, and I'm comfortable with the ones added. If all DT sounded like these, we'd have more of them.

That Steve Stevens is a find. I knew he was a reasonably talented guitarist when he played with Billy, but his work with Bozzio-Levin-Stevens was a pleasant surprise. A friend turned me on to this solo album, and I really like it. Feedback is welcome.

Billy Idol being added? If you thought DT was a long shot...

and no other comments on Pain Of Salvation? Some people call them prog-metal. My description to Avian awhile back was this: DT is a prog band playing metal music. POS is a metal band playing prog music. It may sound subtle, but it's a significant difference. At least in my opinion...

clarification - we had Tenn Jin already, but I re-ripped the "As On A Darkling Plain" suite as two side-long pieces, rather than the 8 separate tracks it was previously...

Biting

I picked up that It Bites collection in Japan for $9 - based on it, I may pick up more of their stuff. Some of it is uncomfortably close to middle o fthe road rock, but most of it I liked quite a lot. Any feedback on which of their original albums are most or least prog would be appreciated...

Damn, this'll cost me - seems only fair that I owe you a pint for this, so I'll have to fly to London to deliver it. Of all the rotten luck!

Thanks mate, and I'm serious about the pint. Not sure when exactly, but I'll deliver in person...

Re: Updates for 11/5/04

And once again, I should clarify, a few of these (Toccata, Finneus Gauge and Alamaailman) are single songs I picked up off the web (legally I'm proud to say)

Well, Jim might have thought he could sneak another update by me, but I was on top of things this time!

(Actually, to be honest, he dropped me an email letting me know they were there. So I like to embellish. Sue me.)

Anyway, they are:
  • Alamaailman Vasarat - Vasaraasia
  • Finneus Gauge - More Once More
  • Finneus Gauge - One Inch Of The Fall
  • French TV - Pardon Our French
  • French TV - The Case Against Art
  • Infinity - Infinity
  • Theory Of One - Antithesis
  • Toccatta - Anonima Existencia
  • Trap - Insurrection

Enjoy!

Roger -Dot- Lee, liking that Toccatta....

and as usual, a caveat - the Mystery and Martin Maheux are individual tracks from a sampler. The rest are complete albums. Enjoy!

Roger -Dot- Lee, opinions 'r' us!
you won't go too far wrong with Chance - I would suggest "This Mystic Time", "Past To Present", or "Aquatic Fiction" - but all of it is pretty good.

Any other artist from that December 8 upload is going to make lots of people happy...

my 2 cents

what I think Stan meant, (and if not, then I mean it) was when you (Roger-dot-lee) post here in the forums, make the band or album name a link to the playlist. Something like <a href="http://www.auralmoon.com/html/pnplaylist.php?search=band1"> band1 </a>

I know that href url is bogus, but you get the idea...don't you?

We will be somewhat limited by the behavior of the search script - but I think it will be cool if you can take the time to include a link or links...

Roger -Dot- Lee, at least more so than going straight to my posting from the front page...
Yeah, I tried to figure out how to go to the last post - and it ain't easy if it's even possible...

halfway fixed

Don't know how, but all of Kenso II, FSB II and Polifemo II got relabeled as Styx II. I fixed the artist, but Roger, I didn't correct the cover since I'm not sure how to and didn't want to create a bigger problem. (Which I am oh so capable of doing....)

oh yeah, the year is wrong on those now too, but I don't have the CDs with me to check the proper year...
