Re: Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library (read only)
Hopefully all the damage I did to the stream (shut it down twice, and seemingly caused a track to play in silence) whilst adding this batch of music has been forgotten. Maybe when you hear some of it this stuff, it will at least have been worth it.
Amon Duul II - Wolf Parade (weird psychedelic type stuff) Art In America - Art In America (Kind of AOR/Prog, not bad) Kate Bush - The Kick Inside (forum request) D'Arcana - Premonitions (two disc of solid classic prog) Mads Eriksen - ME (guitar hero type) Flor De Loto - Madre Tierra (ethnic (Latin) prog) Pamela Golden - Happens All The Time (a female Peter Gabriel) Jane - III (jamming Krautrock) Dave Kulju - Abstract Expression (nice arrangements, instrumental rock) Nick May - Whimwise (ex-Enid mixes classical and prog) Oskay-O'Domnhaill - Nighnoise (new-agey Celtic light prog) Persephone's Dream - Pyre Of Dreams (prog/neo/metal mix) Popol Vuh - City Raga (world music influences) Porcupine Tree -Warszawa (live) Zozimo Rech - Pictures Of A Solar System Zozimo Rech - The Life Of A Star (killer space rock) Adrianne Simioni - The Intelligible Sky (more space rock) Speechless - Time Out Of Mind (brilliant new prog) Paul Speer - Collection 991 - Music + Art (guitar classical prog rock mix) Tinyfish - Tinyfish (see Keithie's review of the concert we attended) Joe Walsh - two instrumental tracks from the 80's that may surprise you |

Re: Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library (read only)
One thing that is confusing the Moon a bit is these remasters. Currently, we have them listed by the year they were released, but does that work for you guys when you browse the playlist, which is listed chronologically? I think I'd rather see them listed with their original dates. What do ye think?

Updates as of 12/3 (give or take a month)
Hokay, so work's been giving me more than ample excuse to slack in getting the new stuff ... er ... stuffed.
This has given Jim the opportunity to get quite the jump on me. Quite the jump. Anyway, without further ado:
Note for the observant: that Progday Encore was SEVEN full CDs worth of proggy goodness. So let's knock off the overrequesting crap, 'k? Roger -Dot- Lee, like, trying to stay current with the vernacular, with mixed results.

Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library
We now have over 650 hours of unique Prog Rock, contained in just shy of 20,000 individual tracks. No more overrequesting, 'k?
Oh, and the entries that put us up that high:
Roger -Dot- Lee, 3am. I'm going to bed.

Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library
I usually put in something witty/amusing (at least to me)/incoherent here. I'm going to break with tradition by letting the list speak for itself. This is a record, folks. 78 new albums by 64 different artists.
And Jim's still uploading. There will be more come tomorrow evening. Watch this space, since I'll just update this.
Roger -Dot- Lee, Nuff said.

Re: Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library (read only)
Well I happen to know that RogerDOTLee is alive, since I received a correspondence from him. Otherwise, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of his free time or mental health.
Completely off topic, here's some new music just added: Ahleuchatistas - Even In The Midst... (crazy frenetic instrumentals) Anekdoten - Vemod Apple Pie - Crossroads Dimension X - The Implicatios Of A Genetic Defense Jack Foster iii - Tame Until Hungry (yes, our very own Jazzraptor) Hamadryad - Live In France Junk Farm - Ugly Little Thing (with that band name and album title, I bet you can't wait to request this.) Little Tragedies - Chinese Songs Part One (there's no part two, and nary a Chinese sound on it, but what the hey?) Moraz-Bruford - Music for Piano and Drums Qwaarn - Aberrations Radio Massacre International - Rain Falls In Grey Bob Robertson - Into The Distance Spaced Out - Live at Crescendo Festival Strawbs - Deadlines (some poppier stuff, but some good moments too) Taylor's Universe - Terra Steve Tibbetts - Yr Time Of Orchids - Namesake Caution Trettioriga Kriget - I Borjan Och Slutet (no, I can't even pronounce it muchless tell you what it means.) Versylus - Versylus and I just might add a track or two from the new Beastie Boys album - you have been warned! pdj |

Re: Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library (read only)
I'm headed to Atlanta tomorrow, and hopefully some of Dot's wit and wisdom will rub off on me so future additions to the library will include some pithy commentary. Lacking quality, I tried to make up for it in quantity. Here's a bunch of new stuff including the 10T label (great stuff), a lot of OverHillandDale donations, and, well, a bunch of other stuff.
Alan Parsons Project - Ammonia Avenue Alan Parsons Project - Eve David Allen - Widescreen (no, not Daevid Allen from Gong) Bolt - Movement And Detail Capercaillie - To The Moon Capercaillie - Beautiful Wasteland Carmen - Fandangos In Space Carmen - Dancing On A Cold Wind Carmen - The Gypsies Rhys Chatham - Die Donnergoter Cronico - Delirium Room Dead Can Dance - Toward The Within El Retorno De Los Brujos - La Reforma Fluttr Effect - Marking Time Gino Foti - Sphere Of Influence Gino Foti - Orbis Terrarum Steve Hackett - The Tokyo Tapes IQ - The Lost Attic King Crimson - The Nightwatch Little Atlas - Hollow Kerry Livgren - One Of Several Possible Musiks Pat Metheny - Imaginary Day Moody Blues - The Present Moody Blues - Simple Game (single B-side) Rebel Wheel - Diagramma RPWL - God Has Failed RPWL - 9 Todd Rundgren - A Wizard, A True Star Saga - 10,000 Days Tempano - The Agony And The Ecstasy Uriah Heep - Demons And Wizards Uriah Heep - The Magician's Birthday Roger Waters - Radio K.A.O.S. Roger Waters - The Wall Live In Berlin Yes - Open Your Eyes Yes - Friends And Relatives Frank Zappa - Make A Jazz Noise Here counting double disc sets as 2, that's 40 CDs worth of new music. Go get 'em tiger! |

Re: Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library (read only)
Finally, an update with no listener contributions. This one is all mine...
Ars Nova - Biogenesis Project Terry Bozzio - Chamber Works Buckethead - Electric Tears Coheed & Cambria - Second Stage Turbine Blade Earth And Fire - Song Of The Marching Children Brian Eno - Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy Gary Burton Quartet & Eberhard Weber -Passengers Happy Family - Happy Family Quidam - Surrevival Uriah Heep - Greatest Hits (1 or 2 cuts each from S/T, Salisbury, Look At Yourself) Uriah Heep - Innocent Victim Volapuk - Polyglot White Willow - Ignis Fatuus I had the strangest sense of deja vu typing this, so if I'm repeating myself, I apologize - I couldn't see where I had mentioned any of these previously - maybe while in the shoutbox... Re: Latest updates to the Aural Moon Library (read only)
I'll save the excuses for work and just get into the latest updates (at least two):
Abel Ganz - The Danger Of Strangers (nice disc donated by someone. I have the accompanying letter somewhere on my desk, when I find it I'll properly give thanks) Battles - Mirrored (crazy stuff. Mind boggling, tight playing but kind of frenetic so recommended in small doses until tolerance increases) Captain Beyond - Sufficiently Breathless (varies between jamming straight rock and beautiful prog - nice donation from OverHillandDale) Flower Kings - The Sum Of No Evil (Roine Stolt finally comes out with a new album - what's it been ,a few months since his last double CD?) Peter Hammill - And Close As This Hawkwind - Live Chronicles Allan Holdsworth - 16 Men Of Tain (three more from OHD) Horslips - Greatest Hits - (you may remember them from 70's radio - crossover Celtic prog) Iceberg - (three discs of Spanish fusion from OHD - nice stuff) Metaphor - The Sparrow (latest from the former Genesis tribute band - edgier than Genesis) Moody Blues - Long Distance Voyager (another hole filled by OHD) Steve Morse - Major Impacts (re-add of this one, we used to have it) Jaco Pastorius - The Birthday Concert (this guy sure can play the bass) Ritual - The Hemulic Voluntary Band (I don't know what Hemulic means unless it's "killer CD") Riverside - Rapid Eye Movement (I just got Riverside, Ritual and Flower Kings a few hours ago so do you really expect any meaningful comments on this one too?) Senogul - Senogul (pretty disc from Spain) Simak Dialog - Patahan (jazzy and nice) Soft Machine Legacy - Steam (self-explanatory) Joe Zawinul - Zawinul (say thanks to OHD again) Just in time for theming Thursday! |
