Have to admit - rather you played 3 hours of Led Z, Iron Butterfly and Steppenwolf - Sucked on them before prog (only due to ignorance)
The rest I´m not bothered about.

Immigrant Song is NOT a good way to start a root canal, nor is it a good way to start a meeting that involves lower-middle and middle management from IBM. But other than that, I can't think of anything else it would't be a good start to. Roger -Dot- Lee, picky picky...

Y'all can talk about lyrics all you want, but I MUST have that Malmsteen that played on this show. That has got to be one of the top 10 guitar charts ever written.
And here I thought Malmsteen was strictly new-agey. I was VERY OBVIOUSLY mistaking him for someone else. Roger -Dot- Lee, gonna get it come hell or high water.

I'm not sure what Malmsteen did later in his career, but after that record he got more mainstream. His big thing in concert was whipping the guitar around his back. 1984 - Rising Force - great cover with the guitar and flames. And on drums, Barriemore Barlow! (I did not notice that until now), and Jens johansson on keys (that I did know, he's with Mastermind now). Should be able to find that. If not, I'll get it to you. Let me know. Now that we survived the initial metal show, looks like once every quarter we can try this. Anything I can do to help Thor with his bullemia ![]() |

That sounds about right. I personally don't think we'd want to do it any more often than that. It's not so much that it's a bad idea, but it does tend to detract from what AM is... Quote:
Roger -Dot- Lee, oh, you meant BULIMIA!

![]() When I first started to listen to 60's-70's rock Led Zeppelin was my favorite from that time period. I was told, from a friends older sister very cute btw, that the term HM came from a reporter who made the parallel Led / Lead. This confused me. Led Zeppelin first album was not what I called HM. That was reserved for bands like Judas Priest, Motörhead, Accept, and Scorpions ect…

And I'm pleased you looked that up QJ. I knew it was off a bit too, but it wasn't something I wanted to bandy about. I think we all know that Born To Be Wild had the phrase in it. The rest of the tune's lyrics is irrelevant, especially if they're quoted incorrectly. "Hold me closer tiny dancer, count the head lice on the highway"........... |

Jimi Hendrix
Didn't Jimi say "excuse me while I kiss this guy" in Purple Haze?
![]() Regarding Led Zeppelin, I thought that the story was that a reporter, after hearing their demo's" said "your music will go over (as in "fly") like a lead zeppelin". |

Wrong lyrics
I'm going to start a new thread in the General Discussion area - mistaken lyrics. I think I'll call it "WHAT did he say?"
Starting with CCR's classic "There's a bathroom on the right".. |
