Oh, I thought he COULD see it, just couldn't respond. Sort of a virtual gag effect? Now wouldn't that just be the naughtiest of things to do?

I meant by "hoax" that Master Sod is probably just a flamer who likes to do this sort of thing on internet threads. And probably doesn't know a thing about prog, just wants to "have fun".

It's good to see that you're still whacking, Roger. Nicely done!

Indeed, that would. However, if he could log in, he'd be able to change everything back, and that wouldn't amuse me.

I'm sure he'll find his way back somehow, and likely try to log on, find out he can't, and whine petulantly about the entire affair. He might even log as a different user. I'm hoping he does this, because he'll see his new Avatar.

Oh, and I'll be able to block that IP as well.

And if I could figure out how to let him log in yet not post, I'd have done that after the first post.

Yeah, he may be a fLamer. I really don't give a hoot. If he wants to get into a virtual sword fight, I have no problem with peeling his armor off in bits and pieces, leaving him standing in the middle of the field with nothing but a broken sword and his Spiderman Underoos tucked up under his beer belly, his dignity not only in tatters but likely claiming to all and sundry that it has no idea who this person is and can anyone spare a dime for a cup of coffee and some bus fare.

Thank you. I love this place far too much to have some slope-browed knuckledragging troglodyte with an overinflated sense of his own place in the greater scheme of things sour it for me.

  4. changed your title (I was bored, and figured it would amuse me).
  5. changed your avatar (I was bored (see above) and it amused me even more).

Thumbs up w00t!

And there was much rejoicing, and dancing in the aisles, and throwing of flowers, and the wine (or Guiness, or single malt...) didth flow freely, and a Bachanallian time was had by all, unless they had to tip-toe quietly near the mighty IP whacking god Dotman.

That may be the funniest paragraph I've read on the Moon.
