Yay! Someone remembered one of my theme idea!

Re: For Theme Thusdays

Today is 8/3 -- how about nuts and fruits, mythical or not, for today's theme?

Next Thursday, no song over 2:30.

That sounds like a couple of interesting weeks to me.

Re: For Theme Thusdays

10 random theme ideas off the top of my head:

1) songs over 2:30 ;-)
2) interesting percussion
3) good vocals
4) instrumentals
5) songs with AT LEAST one non-standard rock instrument (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard)
6) math/science
7) colors
8) animals
9) transportation (car, boat, running, flying, etc)
10) earth, air, fire, and/or water

Re: For Theme Thusdays

Goot themes lamur, except we've done transportation really recently, i think, and "good vocals" or "interesting percussion" are a bit subjective IMO. but I like the rest.

How is subjective is bad? I'd like to hear what other people like to listen to. That's part of the coolness of doing those themes. I don't just want to hear random songs, I'd like to find new music to listen to in the process.

Either way, I was just trying to open up the discussion by throwing out a lot of different ideas. It's not like everyone follows the theme anyway. I figured if we gave people more flexibility to still choose songs they like, they might be more inclined to play along.

I hardly request and rarely listen to Moon for long periods of time so I've been out of the loop regarding this thread.

Themes are Thursdays? That's a pretty good day.

Ok

1. Songs over 30:00
2. Starts with Q, X, or Z
3. Guest stars (when one famous musician guests, such as Jon on "Lizard," Fripp on "Bird of Heaven," or Hodgeson on "Walls")
4. Titles ten words or longer
5. Title tracks only
6. Album openers only
7. Album closers only
8. Songs of specific length (such as 9:00 songs - songs between 9:00 and 9:59)
9. Songs with dramatic time shifts, or with two or more time signatures (such as "Sound Chaser," "Magnum Opus," "Money," or [gag]"Supper's Ready")
10. Song with "people" names (such as "Harold Land," "Mr. Wilson," "Matthew - The Man," or "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast")

Re: For Theme Thusdays

It's so good to see themes being resurrected. While I'll rarely be able to participate, here's some suggestions:

One word titles
Numbers
Sexual Euphemisms
Cover tracks
Colours
Professions
Astronomy
Songs / Artists with a literary reference
___ and ___ ("Us and Them", "And You and I", "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" - Wait, is that on the playlist?)
Geographical features

You'd better stop me now....
