Re: 10 of the best uknown prog albums

Well you know...I consider North Euro Progrock is so great for us proggers.
Lellu's recommendation; Pekka Pohjola's sound is very fantastic.

Harakka Bialoipokku - Pekka Pohjola

Thanks Moonies.

Re: 10 of the best uknown prog albums

One of the great 'could be if you squint' prog albums is Tomorrow Belongs To Me by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.

Scotland's own SAHB were one of the great under-rated bands of the '70s, and TBTM was SAHB at their best.

The Tale Of The Giant Stone-eater, Give My Compliments To The Chef and Sharks' Teeth were pure prog IMO - and Shake That Thing is one of my favourite songs ever.

Definitely worth checking out by moonies - hail Vibrania!

I share MB's statement, SAHB was a clever band

The impossible dream , their previous was also a gem

Re: 10 of the best uknown prog albums

another band I just thought of that I discovered in Minnesota, USA is a band called Taï Phong. Taï Phong is a bit of an oddity, as it is a French band founded by Vietnamese brothers Kahn and Taï Ho Tong. The sound is comparable to Camel, and Novalis, but the most telling description is 'France's answer to Barclay James Havest.'

The first line-up of that french band gave birth to the solo career of a well known french singer called Jean jacques Goldman ( hi pitched voice, good axeman), he played guitar with tai Phong ( that name just for the record means typhoon), he left the band in order to make his tour of duty in the french army , i think he never rejoigned the band after the army because of internal trouble

their official discography is made of 3 LPS Tai Phong 75/Windows 76/Last flight 78 or 79 all on Warner Bros ( for Europe) . I got the first ( and best imho) know the second, third is unknown to my old ears
