Izzstensing
Not sure what you mean about "integrated" Jim maybe the blend of instruments is more cohesive?), but I heard a Strangefish song and it was ok, but it sounded like they tried to fit every idea and genre into one song. Spock's is guilty of that too on occasion.
You will get many different songs on an Izz record, but it seems to work. |

What is Queen Pre Ordained??? Some kind of compilation? Say it ain't so! I can't find anything by that title. As far as I know, "Innuendo" was the last record - please say it's not a compilation, that would be weak. Enlighten me! |

Queen "Pre-Ordained" is a brand new release of material that pre-dates the first album. All of it was recorded between 1969 and 1973. I found it to be interesting, and fairly progressive. Rick, on Izz and "integrated", what I was referring to is that SB (to me) is pop with progressive instrumental breaks inbetween, whereas Izz integrates pop and progressive into a coherent whole. It is truly progressive pop, whereas SB is pop, then progressive, then pop, then progressive. |

The latest and greatest
Greetings one and all!
Todays additions, though few, are heartfelt. Personally, I've never heard of either of these groups, but I'm sure I will shortly. I'd have queued up some examples, but Gnosis was running, and Alex would have probably had issues had I stepped on his show.
And, for reasons known to nobody in particular, it seems that one album didn't get announced. Shame on me. I blame the hours I work.
(and if that got double announced, well, it's such a kickin' album, it deserves two. So there. :P ) Enjoy! Roger -Dot- Lee

Thanks for update Roger. This Paatos should be one of the best 2004 albums. Fantastic mellotron performance and Steven Wilson as a producent.
Gargantua is Polish band, something for Gentle Giant fans. |

What I like about Tres Lunas is that it doesn't sound like every other Oldfield release. There's a sameness to his sound (to me) which means I like any of his albums, but I need space between listens.
Same thing about the Journey, though that one was pretty interesting in it's own right. Nice mix of the orchestra/strings and Schon's guitar. It got cheesy in one or two places, and I did leave one song out (sounded like sappy pop to me), but overall a fine effort. |

The one song you left out, "Little Girl," was actually the one song not written for the soundtrack. It was written as a "single" to support the album. Since it was a Japan only album, whupty-do. In the Time3 boxed-set, someone (I think Schon) said that they wished they'd saved it for Escape.
So, good ears there Jim!
