Yes, but here's the cool thing - the What's Playing Now will be up on the main page (you can also click to open it up in a separate window, too). So by sitting on the main page, you can see what's playing, what's happening in the black box, who's just came onto the site, and the latest posts in the forum as they appear.

The Magic is in your step, your joy of creation. Like any other medium you, Avian, are a Web artist. The zeal that I see in your Posts shows your pride in your new baby as she takes form. Your original Vision has made us very happy, thus the reluctance of some for change. I wonder what form the New Vision will be, with the knowledge of your past work
Having seen your Sg. Pepper, I eagerly await your Magical Mystery Tour

Then you can click on the link to go to that post, or a link to automatically go to new posts right from the home page.

I think that this will be a great feature for many people.

There are other feature we're working on - I think you guys will really enjoy the new site when it ramps up to its full potential.
that's what I was thinking of. thanks, Avian!

What about themes?

We've had unofficial themed request days in the past. Is there any interest in resurrecting that concept, maybe in a more limited use, and incorporating it into the new website? I'd be willing to assist.

Stan,

I'd say that this is almost essential. Those days of the Theme Meister are so dear to my heart.

Whilst it is lovely to have all the detail of the web page, when I'm working I'd like the option to view just two items (preferably in separate windows).
1. The Black Box
2. WPN.
Community and information .. and still some space to see what else I'm doing (hey the Cinema display has only got so many pixles ;-) )

I'm with my namesake here. I only wish I had a cinematic display to go with the dual CPU screamer G5 with too much memory and too much hard disk.

all to go with my full sized Powerbook.

Well, I get all the income tax refund this year, so maybe, just maybe, one of those will be in my future.

Lightbulb okay overall i like the new forum

but i do miss the birthday notices...even when it shows the names of non-shout-active members i like seeing that when i first come in. where did that go? can it come back...it's always nice to see and participate in a happy birthday thread.

i also didn't mind the forum being white, the adjustment to dark and the box being white works fine IMO.

and yes perhaps a theme would be nice....is there a way we can all submit themes and have them randomly chosen and show up on the page (the then mentioned theme wouldn't repeat until all themes played) or maybe have a total of 30 picked each month (of course there would be no themes by SAM on wednesdays...i still like that idea)

my 2¢

oh and i reALLy like the online button next to the persons name so you know they're online...cute.

p.s. nice pic roger

Oh, I'll freely admit without hesistation that I'm heartily jealous. I'm on a two year old 1 GHz eMac, although (hopefully) that will change once the tax refund gets here next year...

Re: New Web Site

Anybody surfing this site knows I like to use the Shoutbox and forums for little Graphics projects when I post. What I noticed is there is no Emotioncon (smiles) with SINGING as It's Specialty.
We all use Embarrassment as a substitute but I think this Music site needs a singer or Musical Notes.

Re: New Web Site

On [that OS that VAX hates] you can get ♫musical notes♫ in the Shoutbox by holding down ALT and typing 14 on the keypad. There is probably a Mac and *nix counterpart to that somewhere.

I've heard rumors that some other OSs won't display them properly though.

Yahbbut...but...but you can't get FIFTY SEVEN different types of virus and spyware on a mac within 15 minutes of connecting it to the internet?

Yes, it happened. No, not to my machine.

Heh, at least y'all run relatively modern computers. My only recent computer purchase was a PowerBook G3 that I bought used... Well, my PeeCee is only 2 years old, and it runs Windoze, by family request.
