not French, not German. Both artists happen to be English.

could be wrong...

I don't know if this is what progdirjim means, but perhaps it's a two-step process, like:

(Artist 1)
"Loving is _____"

(Artist 2)
"_____ is Nothing"

Also - they're English like from the UK, or that's their native language?

You mean like "Nothing Is Easy" (Tull) and "Easy Meat" (Zappa)?

answer

Perhaps "Jethro Tull - Nothing is Easy"

and

"Barclay James Harvest - Loving is Easy"

Therefore Loving is Nothing?

If you're right, I'd be happy to take the assist.

Nice job!

Exactly right Moses, nice job!

Funny that you mentioned Easy Meat, Rick, because I was also thinking of "Meat = Money" as the question, combining Easy Meat (Zappa) and Easy Money (KC), but it didn't really work out.

and the BJH song is playing right now.

Since Rick is closer than Jim to Stu, alphabetically, why don't you be Uncle Meat. I'll be one of Calvin's hitch-hikers...

For the birds...

OK, this one's all about fowl. Name the artist, song and bird. These are all AM songs.

HINT: The bird may be in the song, not necessarily in the title in all cases.

1. Water, water everywhere
2. Off the wall
3. Holy Spirit wings
4. A royal whim
5. She's your sister?

Hope this isn't too easy...

1) Howard, Greg Band - Albatross
3) Mehdi - White Dove, Yes - Soft as a Dove
4) Trace - King Bird

Not sure about 2 and I'm still working on the rest.

so close... no not really

Actually, while those are all valid answers, none of them are the ones I was thinking of. I was worried about there being too many possible correct answers to this one.

However:

1) Albatross is the correct bird (think a different artist)
3) Yes is included, but not #2
4) part of your answer is correct.

Getting there...

Correct!

The others are also very good answers but not what I had in mind.

2 - great answer, but I was thinking of a different bird.
3 is a goose, be more specific.
5 is so close, you're almost there.

Score: Jim 1, others 0

first crack at it

5 is Starship Trooper (Sister Bluebird flying high above) by Yes

the Goose could be a Golden Goose, but only an Iron Maiden tune comes to mind!

A loony for the off the wall?

That's correct!

I apologize that this is turning into a game of "read Moses' mind." It's fun for me anyway.

1. Water, water everywhere - Pink Floyd - Echoes - Albatross
2. Off the wall
3. Holy Spirit wings (goose)
4. A royal whim
5. She's your sister? - Yes - Starship Trooper - Bluebird

Score: Jim 1, Rick 1...

3 more to go...

3.

Iona - The Flight of the Wild Goose (Instrumental)
or
Iona - Here I Stand (Here I stand looking out to sea and I say a prayer that the Wild Goose will come to me."

The Wild Goose is the ancient Celtic symbol of the Holy Spirit.

do we have a three way tie?

Looks good Yesspaz, waiting for confirmation from on high..

Off the Wall (not a cuckoo, maybe a loony)?

AND

A Royal Whim - from the guesses I'm thinking King is part of it - a Kingfisher maybe?

another one bites the dust

Quote:

is correct.

1. Water, water everywhere - Pink Floyd - Echoes - Albatross
2. Off the wall
3. Holy Spirit wings - Iona - The Flight of the Wild Goose (Instrumental)
4. A royal whim
5. She's your sister? - Yes - Starship Trooper - Bluebird

Since we seem to need hints, here goes:

They're both British bands, both from the 70's, both pretty well known, both still around today (with a few different members).

2. Was intentionally misleading, it has to do with the lyrics in the song... so maybe it's not OFF the wall, but...

4. Royalty has to do with the band's name, the whim has to do with the bird.

Jim 1, Rick 1, Yesspaz 1...
