Ya know Yesspaz

i believe i had just joined in reading the shout box about the time of your accident.(hadn't made the trip to shouting yet)

i didn't know these picts were here. i just recall reading a lot about leg injuries and such...you incredibly blessed young man...i'm so very happy you will survive this...looks awefully painful but you seem to be handling it with wit and patience.

great pictures too....may you continue to recover and make all the docs eat thier words.

blessings
podakayne

and rick...too bad about the pain killers...hope you're being give some prime TLC.

Ok, see, when the doctor took the titanium rods that went through my leg out, blood shot out like a geyser. I was, of course, unconscious. My doc told me that he wrapped my leg up really fast with gauze and threw on the cast. Well, you can see here the massive amount of dried blood that soaked through layers of cast. This is the guaze side.

Here's a particulary brutal shot where you can see the gauze that was directly over the holes made by the external fixator. Yummy.

Ok, at this point, my leg is sitting quite precariously on the table. My tibia is still non-union, meaning if someone wanted to, they could break my leg with their bare hands. I'm NOT moving. Another cast must be applied. The reason we change casts is because of the blood/sanitary concerns, and because legs atrophy in casts. As it atrophies, it becomes easier for my non-union leg to flop and cause further damage. We must "tighten it up" with another cast. I went blue.

My third cast in nine days. I went green this time, and my friend Andrea decided that if my toes had to stick out, she might as well decorate them. I, being quite comfortable with who I am, said ok. Besides, if a pretty woman wants to play with my feet, who am I to say no?

i'd do your toes too Yspaz

good to see such great progress. like i said before you've handled this whole ordeal with great wit and patience. so many surgeries, cast and therapy still to come. hang tight.

much affection
poda

p.s. knowing i could pick you out in a line-up of legs is great, but couldn't we get a face shot every now and again.

I bought that entertainment center at a garage sale. It had a huge cut-out for the television. I put my stereo there and decided to stick a poster in the cut-out. You cant see it for me, but you can see all four members of some old band. I'm not sure who they are, but they were supposedly influential, and it's the photo used for the cover of their fourth album "Music For Sale" or something lame like that. Anyway, from that angle you can't see the two guitarists. One's behind the wall and one's behind my head. My stereo has a record player on top, so whatever vinyl is in there at the moment, I prop the sleeve up against the stereo as decoration. That's one thing vinyls have over everything else - the importance of the artwork. Look at those vivid colors on the 11-million-copies-in-the-first-week Boston debut!

Any objections to my stuffing that in the forums? I'll keep the lower half, though. We'll call this Yesspaz's top half or something.

Roger -Dot- Lee, no witty quips this time.
