Well Woj that's very kind of you to propose us to use your materials, but I guess composing our own pieces would be better. What do you think Moonies ?
Besides that, you said yourself you'd convert them with real instruments so you probably should keep them for yourself until it's done and then have your own success.

Apart from that you're welcome to play your keyboard in that project if you want.

Well in case of prog you always need people for success.
But that's true that one person's conceptual stuff may not be cool for all in the band so perhaps it's better to have something universal, created in a common effort. So I agree with your conclusion Elric, that was only proposition. However, if I have time I may think to compose sth special for Moonies band. If you want of course.

I'm non-stop working on my material/album so if someone among you guys would like to be part of it I will be honoured.

woj- hey, any help i can be....

i didn't forget about you guys, i finished this #@!& rewire later than expected...
and w/ a splitting sinus headache from crawling around in the dust bunnies behind the desk.

a 3 1/2 hr. detour figuring out why my MX duo mouse/keyboard
went out (something i'm not an expert on)
still no clue, but after the 20th or so attempt after rolling back drivers ect...
it decided to cooperate.

this new mackie mixer is ummm...da bomb
i'm hearing things in patches that escaped me before.
hard telling how long the old mixer's been going out.

i'll get that melody line for the vocal intro on rifftrader today,
let you know when it's good to go.
nothing fancy, just a placeholder for vocs to be inserted later.
this is "prog 101" at this point, so sort of "YESSIE".

remember, the user/password in is auralmoon/moonies.
you don't have to go to the DL page, just R click on the file,
"save as.." to your mp3 player of choice.

hey- it's posted to rifftrader. there's a 192K file for those
so fortunate to have a highspeed connection, a 128k for dialups.

after i got this moving, it didn't sound half bad, so i
built it up a bit.

there's some light horns , which can be replaced later w/
the real thing if anyone's so inclined.
it kind of has a "teakbois" sound, which may not be a
bad direction to go w/ all the horn players available.
i can instantly trade out any of the instruments,
i.e~ replacing the horns w/ a hammond

w/ something like a reverse hit going in, this may
make a good intro, the vocal following the line next.

btw- rifftrader auto-purges files after 72 hrs.

I've listened to it ... It sounds good but I can't figure what to do with that ... I'm thinking about adding 'oooohhhs' over that line, and then why not repeat it two or 4 times and add a guitar intro the second or 4th time ...
But it would be a bit classic ...
Another possibility would be to use this as an ending or even a break ... in an epic wouldn't that sound nice as a break or an ending ?

hey elric- classic and standard is exactly what i'm
shooting for. the 1st thing everyone has to do is be able
to record, then record w/ some sound quality, then be able
to keep up on a musical level.
there's a few hurdles ahead, it's not a time for a 7/8 fusion...
but when you're ready, say the word.

(not you moses..i know you are.)

soundforge is an audio editor, used to import/process
tracks from other applications.
you need a sequencer, like sonar, cubase, protools,
sony acid to do multitrack recording.

the one moses left a link to back in the thread is
free, looks user friendly.

hey guys, sorry, I'm straight out with a musical theatre residency right now, so won't have much to offer for a couple of weeks...

I like the little riff, though I'm so paper trained I was wishing for a midi file... then I'd throw it into Finale and start whacking at it. oh well, by the time I can get to it, it will have changed anyway!

keep on keepin on...

hey roger- actually, that is a .mid file, converted to audio,
so you're in luck! i'll send it to you when you're ready.

...it's good that you're paper trained...
....wouldn't want to soil the carpets

I'm gonna have to officially bow out. School starts in a few weeks and I won't have time. I barely have time now. Sorry.
