That was definitely a choice simply because of the contrabass sax part. Not as cool as a contra clarinet, but still awesome, though not exactly prog.

And, to wander back into progger territory, I need to get back to adapting ELP's "Karn Evil 9" for Contrabass clarinet.

Overnight, I've been giving my copy of Dark Side of the Moon a long-needed playing, while working on my history term paper that's due in three hours and forty-five minutes. Also, I dug out my copy of A Passion Play and gave it a run-through, and was reminded why I love Jethro Tull, yet again.

Three of my favorite artists..... the Salem Hill DVD should be out soon enough. Cliff Phelps (Chaos Code) is playing Floyd covers on Sunday night at a watering hole..... and Matthew is one of the most interesting people I've ever met (along with his wacky and equally troubled nephew, Ryan (Eyestrings).

Along with his Wolfmother recommedation, the dog has good taste! Now to learn about Fruitcake and Forgotten Suns...please tell me more.

Rick,
Fruitcake is a pretty decent band from Norway. 'Room For Surprise' is probably their best cd...

Forgotten Suns is an awesome band from Potugal. Their 'Snooze' cd is excellent. Here is a review...

Hey Rog-
Is she related to Uriah?

Kidding. Good choice, very unproggy.

Have a great New Year!
Something new music-wise perhaps?

Re: What CD's Are you Playing RIght Now? Top 5

Well - I am big into Neal Morse and Spock's Beard at the moment:

Neal Morse - ? - Temple of the Living God
Neal Morse - One - The Separated Man
Spock's Beard - Octane - There Was A Time

Also enjoying Triumvirat - turned on to them by VAX - especially Illusions on a Double Dimple but also some of the bonus tracks.

And of course, I just got the CD Emerson, Lake and Powell and really have been enjoying it - especially The Score; Miracle; and Mars, the Warbringer

Enough for now!!

Thanks for reading....

Ted

Erik Satie - Complete Piano Works (Am now in a classical music phase)

Claude Debussy - Complete Piano Works (Read above statement again, please)

Miles Davis & Gil Evans - Sketches of Spain (Bought this for myself recently, nice album)

Karlheinz Stockhausen - Elektronisch Musik 1952-1960 (Some of the best electronic music ever, and classical to boot)
