COTM - Album/Artist Featre #4 - Roye Albrighton
The album feature for this week of 4/25-30 is a new addition to the library. Roye Albrighton's The Follies of Rupert Treacle. It's not a new album, since it was release in 1999, but it's something I stumbled upon and sent in to Jim.
Roye Albrighton was the creative force of Nektar and their guitarist. This album was his first solo effort (as far as I can tell). On this you'll find he's come a long way since the 70's, merging other musical genres and stylings into his creations. I hear the influence of several guitarists in his work, or perhaps it's emulation. All-in-all, it's a nice showcase for Roye's compostion skills and guitar work, as he does take a couple of good rockin' licks from time to time. Here's a link to his site to learn a little more about him and check out some of the other groups he has played with recently. http://www.royealbrighton.com/ns/about.asp I hope you enjoy. Dale

Thanks Gooze. I appreciate the feedback.
In fact, everyone, I'd love to hear from you as well just cause I don't get to hang out like I used to to see your comments. Please feel free to do so here. Otherwise, I might think you're not listening. Well, time to make the rocks. Cya later. dale

I preferred this one to some of the old Nektar catalogue. A pleasant surprise that sounded almost Camelish. Thanks again Dale. |
