Australian Prog Rock
Hey, thanks Sean for the Aussie prog rock.
Some classic stuff in there. I'm completely flabbergasted that you don't have Spectrum, who I would think are the quintessential Aussie prog band. Spectrum Part 1 and Milesago are particularly good examples. I guess what makes them hard to think of as prog is that their style sometimes embraced straight rock. Samples are available at aztecmusic who also have some other Aussie proggy bands. Also, Mike Rudd (from Spectrum) formed another project called Patch, which did the Star Suite. |

Re: Australian Prog Rock
I love the word flabbergasted, though I don't often use it.
Thanks for the recommendations...knowing Sean, he probably has them queued up for Australia part 22! |

Re: Australian Prog Rock
I've been intending to suggest Spectrum to you for a while.
I think I did a long time ago, but the albums weren't readily available then. |

Re: Australian Prog Rock
You are right, I do need to get Spectrum into a show. When these originally aired in 2004, they were not available on CD yet, I did not have MP3s, and I was spending quite a bit on vinyl to get what I had!
Frankly I need to get some new shows together, but it has been a tough haul this year with my PC going through some "aging pains". I don't relish trying to install SAM again (last time I had half the Aural Moon staff trying to help me).
