Interzone - 3/14/2006: Avant-Garde IV

Hello!

This week I'll be playing 3 hours of avant-garde music from around the globe. This will include rock, prog, and jazz artists and will feature the 2005 album fro Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses (a Guapo offshoot) titled Perils.

Miasma *should* have been the album of the year, but it wasn't even on the ballot. The conspiracy continues!!!

Playlist:

Vijay Iyer-Song For Midwood-(Reimagining)-2005-USA
Christy Doran's New Bag-Sugarpie-(Black Box)-2001-Switzerland
Christy Doran's New Bag-Caviar-(Black Box)-2001-Switzerland
Zaar-Discasambo-(Zaar)-2006-France
Zaar-Scherzo #C-(Zaar)-2006-France
Henry Threadgill-Don’t Turn Around-(Everybody’s Mouth’s A Book)-2001-USA
Miriodor-Le Sorcier-(Mekano)-2001-Canada
Sympozium-Grapefruit Variations-(Kundabuffer)-2006-Israel
Sympozium-Zona-(Kundabuffer)-2006-Israel
Art Zoyd-Bruit, Silence – Bruit, Repos-(3 Symphonie Pour Le Jour Ou Bruleront Les Cites)-1976-France
Ahvak-Vivisektia-(Ahvak)-2004-Israel
Krakatoa-Telegraph-(We Are The Rowboats)-2003-USA
Krakatoa-Cat’s Eye-(We Are The Rowboats)-2003-USA
Tipographica-And The Last Ship Is Going-(The Man Who Does Not Nod)-1995-Japan
Mat Maneri-Witches Woo-(Pentagon)-2005-USA
Eskaton-Attente-(4 Visions)-1979-France
Featured album: Miasma & The Carousel Of H/H-(Perils)-2005-UK

Peace,
Cozy

I thought I had some avant-garde here at home, but looking at your list I've never heard of them. So this show must be far out man.. far out...............

I wish someone would play Napoleons single from the sisties "They're coming to take me away ha ha he he.....to the funny farm where........

Haha. Well, I hope you enjoyed it. The avant-garde shows can be a bit out there, but fortunately most of the people here are very open minded about giving anything a try.....which is not all that common.

Excellent show, very interesting ! I found that the playlist was "crazy" and I like almost all the list
A good thing for me is I can almost understand all you say because you have a very clear pronounciation
