The Best Damn Prog Show Period
Hey - a contest!
I'd like to invite everyone to use the Aural Moon playlist, and make up what would be their favorite two hours of progressive rock "show." You can put your favorite music in there, classics, rarities, or whatever you think would make a great progressive rock show. Make sure it comes to around 2 hours. Post your playlist here, and you may have your show chosen to be broadcast to the throngs of hungry prog listeners! Jim and I will be judging (news to Jim). It's your chance to be a DJ! Post- em! Yeah, we may just default to random selection.
Jim, would you like to put these fine lists in a hat, and pull one out? I'll be playing the first winner on Monday, March 25. Avian |

What days and what times will they be playing, so we'll be sure not to miss them? Thanks, Yesspaz.

Speaking of theme sets
Speaking of theme sets, I thought I'd bring this back up...
I couldn't quote this much, so I pasted it from my earlier post: _____________________________________________ Pink Floyd - Echoes 23+ Don Caballero - Ones All Over The Place 9+ King's X - We Were Born To Be Loved/Faith Hope Love* 13+ Gentle Giant - Schooldays 7+ King Crimson P4 - Ghost Part 1* 24+ American Football - Stay Home* 8+ Blue Man Group - Klein Mandelbrot 8+ Rush - Natural Science 9+ Yes - Awaken 15+ * = not in the AM library _____________________________________________ Well, now KCP4's Ghost Part 1 is in the library, as is American Football's "Stay Home," and I know that Jim has that King's X track - so this is do-able. _____________________________________________ My runner up list: Pink Floyd - Echoes 23+ Don Caballero - Ones All Over The Place 9+ Gentle Giant - Schooldays 7+ Journey - Nickel and Dime 4+ MST3K - Yes1 1+ King Crimson - Starless 12+ Blue Man Group - Klein Mandelbrot 8+ Renaissance - Trip to the Fair 10+ The Moody Blues - Isn't Life Strange 6+ Rush - Natural Science 9+ Genesis - Horizon's 1+ Kansas - Magnum Opus 8+ Yes - Awaken 15+

clactdj - don't worry about being a tad over two hours - I think we can accomodate that. And we can add the Beatles for your show - I have that album.
dinosaur - GREAT set - but Lana Lane? really? do people really like her? last time I asked this it was overwhelmingly yes, but I just don't get it - great voice, but I find her music to be straight rock or at best, marginally prog. oh well, the old cliche - that's what makes the world go round.... Yesspaz - we'll be happy to include your King's X, even though I still say it's not prog (but it is good) and actually, everyone's done a great job on this. That's great! BTW, I forgot to list the artist on track 4, but you probably already know it's The Moody Blues. |
