RPWL in Soest on April 11, 2014

The gig took place in the "Alter Schlachthof", in Soest, and old industriasl building, a former slaughter house. We were aprox 200 people, the place was 2/3 full. Interesting was that they had aprox 40 chairs on the left side in the hall (for us elder citizens..), the rest was standing audience. Doris and I got the only 2 bar chairs which were standing around. Moving them to the left side of the hall, behind the chairs we had a wonderful view.

Gig was to begin at 20:00h. At 19:55 a supporting band, Cristal Pallace (a German band played for about 40 min. They were not bad. The changing took aprox 30 min and the beginning of the RPWL part was sort of a story. Maybe same happens to you when you have the chance to see the gig, therefore I will not tell.

First (and long part of the gig, aprox 80 min) was the concept album "Wanted". It was a show including multimedia (5 (smaller) screens around the audience), acting and interacting with the audience. No pause between the single tunes...just one long epic.. I tell you: WONDERFULL!!! The show was in line with PF shows (of course on a smaller scale: the stage was only 10 m wide..) RPWL told us a story and they really did it well.

Second part (without a break) were a couple of the "old hits" like "Start the Fire", "Trying To Kiss The Sun", "Roses", The last encore was "Hole In The Sky" Best piece to end this memorable gig.

If prog music had more lobby in our multimedia life, RPWL would be one of the "supergroups" filling stadiums.

We enjoyed this evening a lot...Already looking where I can see this show again here nearby...

Thanks for the report, lotus. I like the new album "Wanted", as well as the Crystal Palace album from last year.
