What about Caravan?
Caravan is one of the best examples of the Canterbury sound from the early 70s. Great songs, cynical lyrics, and fantastic performances. Albums such as "In the Land of Gray and Pink" combine Pop music structures with metaphysical lyrics. They might be a little "folksy" for some listeners.

I second the motion.
I listened to some of "grey and pink" - it should definitly be on here. Especially the song "Winter Wine" - some great melodies in there. |

I agree - I was quite surprised to not find them here. I've heard some marvelous stuff by this band.

I've just ordered "For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night" and "In The Land Of Grey And Pink", so look for some Caravan soon...
