I was never a big fan of Dream Theater. So I have not reason to bash you.

You talking about "Cycle Sluts from Hell?" I heard that Jim was in that band.

Dangerous Toys

that was the one I saw - with the international hit "Sportin' A Woody"!

I do see that Budgie is in there - now that's a good band!

I'm not up on the Sluts - maybe I should be!

Budgie are GREAT!!!!!

As for the sluts I was really into them for a while but it was bad for my health. The anti-biotics and ointment cleared it up though.

Budgie

A band that may never make it on AM but it's good old Rock & Roll - "homicidal......suicidal..." A real Canadian treat.

A pair of Budgies????

Is there another Budgie out there????/

The Budgie that I have heard came from Wales in the early 70s.

Some of their earlier albums (SQUAWK and NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON A FRIEND) had album covers by Roger Dean.

They also had a great song/album title "IF I WAS BRITTANIA, I'D WAIVE THE RULES".

The same

I have Squawk (my favorite), the debut, and Bandolier (I think this was the one re-titled Never Turn Your back On A Friend). Bandolier's on album only.

The 4th I have is Brittania, and it does indeed kick ass.

They also have a song called "Breadfan" (from what album I don't know), but Metallica's blistering cover is my one of my favorite Metallica songs.

Are they from Wales? I thought they had a Canadian component. I can't research it right now, but I'll take you word for it.

Roger Dean, huh?

I've never heard them, but my local record store has them in the prog section.

Must be the Roger Dean covers. To a lot of people Roger Dean cover=Prog album.

I wouldn't class them as Prog in any shape or form. To me they're "just" a Good ol' Heavy Rock trio with loadsa balls!!

indie

Well, obviously it's an independent record store. They specialize in Indie, Punk, Prog, Electronica, Emo, Hardcore, Metal, and some Jazz. Also sells incense, candles, and "rock" clothes.

The biggest retailer where I live

http://www.skivhugget.se/eng/

has no prog section but in the shelves there are red "Art rock" stickers next to the artist/bandnames. (To inform or to warn people?)

Back to DT

I just listened to "Awake" - it's really good - I think I had to put it down for awhile, that's all.

DT - "Live at the Marquee" was just on Extended Play. Pretty good I must say.
