COTM - #227 - Nemo and Spock's Beard

Greeting music lovers.

About a month ago, our illustrious leader added the new album Coma by the French group Nemo. Also in that batch of adds was The Oblivion Particle by Spock's Beard. As I have been doing the past few weeks I will be playing each band's debut effort to celebrate.

Up first is the 2002 release by Nemo, Les Nouveaux Mondes (The New World). The cover of the album invokes the illustrations from Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. And that certainly ties in their band name to that same novel. (Raise your hand if you need help with that reference.) The album shows very good potential for the group and they would later surpass those expectations. I think you will like it.

Following Nemo will be the debut album from Spock's Beard. With The Oblivion Particle, Spock's Beard marks their 30th Anniversary of the release of their first album, The Light (1995). It is definitely a young version of SB with their trademark sound. Which, sadly, has not changed all too much since then. But the album should not disappoint.

Alright, I'll see you on the Radio. Hope you can join us.

Cheers.
