Ozric Tentacles

How about a special on the great Ozric Tentacles or maybe an interview with Ed Wynn.

in my forum area (Rickter Scale), find Shows 71 and 72. I did two shows in late Feb of this year. I think I'll be another year or so before I hit them that hard again.

Read an interview with Ed a few years ago...every other word was "nice"...

I'll have to sample it. I'm an Ozric fan more for the outstanding propulsion of the bass and drums. And when they do play atmospheric songs, it makes it that much better. Seeing them with Joie and John was the best, still one of my favorite bands. But of late, they're disappointing live and have lost their edge.

So I'm a bit leery of the "space rock" thing. I know it won't endear me to the crowd, but I never got into Hawkwind. however, I've only heard good things about Eat Static and Dream Machine. It's good to see Joie back in the fold.

Hopefully I'll get to it sooner than later. Almost every new CD I hear is good and that makes it hard to keep up

Re: Ozric Tentacles

I think they`re in a transitional period again, afterall they`ve been around a while now.The last album(spirals...)was almost a solo project with guests for Ed Wynn. But i read an interview with him and he`s jammed with Satriani, who`s a fan apparently, could be something interesting happening maybe a G3 with him.

Re: Ozric Tentacles

ozric tentacles is one of my favourite bands. i got to see them play nearfest and thought they were awesome. i do think alot of their current stuff has a sameness to it, but i am fond of the period roly was in the band. it seemed there was a more dominant bass present at the time, especially on the very early works...

Roly, yes...and Joie on keys. He could play, and didn't rely on effects...
