Glass House and Octopus (picked by a lot of you) I'm always torn between. They're both in my top 10.

Fire merchants....sounds like a bunch of a holes to me

Such a sticky thread, an FAQ, mentioned by Spaz would probably be a good idea. It could also contain general pointers to some of the most interesting and valuable threads on these forums.

Sorry meth, spaz, I don't agree. this is a forum, full of free flowing thoughts, not a ranking, etc. Stickys should be used to keep important announcements at the top, not to rank threads.

Sometimes a thread seems worthwhile and no one hits it. Other times it's goofy and everyone does.

Seems to me people like it. Who cares that it gets recycled every so often?

FAQ, free-flowing thoughts

To R'n'R and artboy:

I've got no particular problem with this thread or these polls in general. It is just that with over 2500 threads and close to 20000 posts, it might be beneficial to offer a little guidance, other than just the keyword-based search mechanism, for those who're trying to find something specific from the archives.

Not that this is awfully important to me. Whatever eventually keeps the Moon best on its orbit... that's the way to go, I suppose.

Here's a suggestion...eliminate "Rick" from the search, and you'll be down to 17,000 posts

Don't worry, in the coming months my posting should decrease (promises promises)...

Re: Top 5 Prog Rock Albums

... seems like a good time for my first post...

1. Selling England by the Pound - Genesis,
2. Silent cries and mighty echoes - Eloy,
3. Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd,
4. Lark's Tongues in Aspic - King Crimson,
5. Time is the key - Gong (Pierre Moerlen's Gong),

My choices are somewhat seasonal. Although the previous list represents my gold standards, I am at times (particularly during Fall) very partial to Wind & Wuthering, by Genesis, to One Size Fits All by Zappa, and to Tales from the Lush Attic, by IQ.
