COTM - #116 - Triumverit, DT & Rush
Hello Brothers and Sisters of the Moon.
I'm a little scattered this week so I think you'll find that reflected in my choices for the show. 1st up is the group Triumvirat from Germany. Likened so often to the sound of ELP because of the heavy organ by Jürgen Fritz. So obviously, the total sound is heavy symphony prog. I'm playing the 1976 album Old Loves Die Hard. Not an oft played album so I hope you like it. Up next is the debut album of Dream Theatre. This is before LaBrie joined. Many folks have never heard this album because it was still a few albums later they began to gain more notice. The album was release in 1989 and is titled When Dream and Day Unite. I think you'll find some enjoyable parts of this debut album. But you certainly will notice the rawness and inconsistency of a new band looking for their sound. Last up is one of the latest additions to the faces of Canadian Stamps. Rush was recently honoured with their inclusion as a set of postage stamps in Canada. So, I honor them by playing their 1978 album Hemispheres. Typically this is one of the favorites of many Rush fans. Diverse show? Perhaps. Certainly it reflects my scattered nature. I'll see you on the radio. Dale

Great selection Dale. The Triumvirat was new to me and quite enjoyable.
