Final Show

I regret to announce that tonight's show will be the last for the Rickter Scale. There are reasons, but rather than dwell on them let's wish Rick well.

I am the owner of Aural Moon, so ultimately everything that happens here is my decision. However, there is a team of people working behind the scenes, and I made the decision that I felt was best for Aural Moon as a whole. It was not done lightly, and believe me, I tried to work things so it wasn't necessary.

Thank you all for your support of Rick's show, and of Aural Moon in general.

Jim

Re: Final Show

I tune in every once in a while for an hour or two but Rick's show was the only show that I tried to attend whenever I could.

Thanks a lot, Rick! Take care,
hans

Re: Final Show

So sorry and sad to hear about this sudden turn of events.

It was way back when Rick was asking for suggestions of music he could play on one of his first shows.....I said "Rick, if you'll play Uriah Heep's Demons and Wizards, I'll think you're a real cool guy..." (Uriah Heep had not a presence on the Moon way back then) Well, he played it. Much Uriah Heep has been added to the Moon since then. And Rick, well he's still the coolest and nicest guy I've had the pleasure to encounter here on the Moon.

I hope you'll still be around.... If not, then we'll catch up on the other side...

Re: Final Show

Hey Rick, as another ex-show guy, I know the effort is a killer. I must say I admire your stamina. I don't know how you did it so long. Dude, one month from now, you'll be thinking, "Why did I ever do a show?"

The show will be missed, but the lad behind a microphone will be missed much more.

I will miss the Ricter Scale and I'll miss you Rick. You the veritable font of fun facts and figures. Did Letterman steal any from you for his book?

Re: Final Show

Listeners of Auralmoon,
Our good friend Rick Dashiell has written a Blog on My space in which he states:
"Hi everyone, Aural Moon will no longer be carrying my show. If I get motivated, I will try to find another way to do the Rickter Scale. Will keep you all posted - thanks to you all, and see you at the concerts! Rick "

I consider Rick my closest Moonbud. We have sat together on Sunday nights for years. Ricks Show was Auralmoons very own Prog showcase. With Samantha in Random play, The RICKTER SCALE was one of the few places where new and old Prog was Introduced to us in Depth.

Furthermore I believe Rick has decided to now stay away from the moon.
I cant Imagine the forums without Mr. 5000.

THANK YOU so much Rick. You have brought so much pleasure to me and my Moonbuds over the years . I wish you much success in all that you do...

Marc Norris

I guess that means that politics has reared it's ugly head again and "won".

It is a shame as Rick did showcase many new bands that might not otherwise have gotten an airing.

I was never around much to hear The Scale so the sad thing for me is that Rick himself won't be here as much to banter with. Hey Ho! I hope we can still get together at ROSfest.

Re: Final Show

My work schedule has not afforded me with the time to be on the moon as much as I would like to be. I have not caught many of your shows Rick but every time I did tune in I was not disappointed. Your impeccable taste, wealth of knowledge and sense of humor are always appreciated.

Rock on dude,
jo

I can only confirm KW's statement.

Although I could only listen very rarely to your shows, Rick, the ones I heard were always very interesting bringing something new to me. Thanks a lot for that. Not only I will miss your shows and your presence here on the Moon.

I find myself agreeing with Lotus here - I couldn't listen to Rick's show much, but I always enjoyed my interactions with Rick when he was on.

I will miss him and the encouragement that he always gave me.

Thank you Rick for what you have done. I hope you find an venue for your show. Please keep sharing your knowledge.

Regards from Texas,
Ted
