Record Store Day
I only have one store close to me and it's still 45 miles. Nonetheless a great time was had by all.
My new stuff was all on 180 gram vinyl... Low+ Dirty Three on green vinyl. An EP really with just six songs. Really good new rock. Codeine, a live unreleased set from their first tour opening up for The Flaming Lips in 1993. Miles Davis, Milestones. Released after Round Midnight and before Kind of Blue. Hard to find until recently. Holds its own with both of those albums. Has Cannonball and Coltrane on it. Old Columbia label for added touch. I should note that the album covers and sleeves were heavy duty. Last but not least, The Cure's Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me album on double red vinyl. I got 943 out of 3500 released. Not bragging, but hard to get. I am a die hard Cure fan and this is the catch for me. Though Miles is a very close second. Nicely packaged with heavy gauge paper. Next report is the gently used vinyl. The only really poppy one (though not terrible) was FZs The Grand Wazoo. I didn't have that on record. |
