How do you say Djam Karet?

How about we share knowledge on how to pronounce the names of the new bands and songs we discover on AM?
Because many of these bands never get any serious air play, we never hear their names.
Although most pronunciations are obvious, (Blesqi Zatsaz?) some are not. For instance:

Djam Karet could be "Duh-jam carrot" or "Jam Kah-RAY"

Some others I'm not quite sure about:
Hamadryad, Los Jaivas, Mutantes, OryZhein, Osiris, Quidam, Sinkadus, Sigur Ros - Flugufrelsarinn, Volapük, Zingale

To get things started, I saw Par Lindh with Kopecky recently.
Par Lindh pronounces his name "Pair Lind", and Kopecky is, well, "Kopecky".

The one I know

as (self-proclaimed) expert of the more progressive side of emo and indie rock, I can tell you that Sigur Ros is pronounced like the first part of cigarette and the flower:

Cig-er Rose

Djam Karet

From the Djam Karet web site.... where I have been spending way too much time and money lately ;}

Pronounced: Jom Car-At

Borrowed from a Harlan Ellison novel, the group's name is a Indonesian phrase that means "elastic time - the hour that stretches", and refers to how your sense of time changes; when you're engaged in the moment, time speeds up.

Quidam

Harlan Ellison is awsome.

Anyway, Quidam is pronounced "kee-dam", the first syllable like the word key.

I was sort of confused, cause quidam is really latin for, in general "a thing or person", which sort of fits with the Cirque du Soleil show (in the show, Quidam is a tall headless man who, in my opinion, kind of represents anonymity and "the everyman"). And if it were latin, it would be pronounced "kwee-dam", as opposed to the more french first version.

That's when I remembered that I actually owned the album (stupid, stupid). They pronounce it the first way on the last track.

Oh, and Cirque du Soleil rocks, both figuratively and literally. See them if you can.
