COTM - #137 - New Year's Fusion
Happy New Year!
To all my friends and listeners in the Aural Mooniverse, I wish you a very happy and prosperous new year. To get the party started a little early I present for you today some nice mid-70's fusion. I'll start off with a big favorite around here, Mr. Jeff Beck and his album Live with The Jan Hammer Group. Up next is a group that isn't nearly as famous and the other bands today. They come from Montreal, Quebec. The group is Sloche. They came onto the scene in 1974 and released their debut album in 1975 called J'un Oeil. They followed that up with Stadaconé in 1976. Unfortunately, those would be the only two albums for them. But wow, what a gift they left for us in those albums. I'll be playing for you Stadaconé. The final album of the show is another big fusion favorite group, Brand X. I'll be spinning Livestock from 1977. It is a live album recorded at various locations in 1976 and 1977. These include Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Hammersmith Odeon, and the Marquee Club. I think you'll have a great time listening and it should be a great way to close our 2013 and welcome in 2014. Peace to you all and I will see you on the radio. dale

Re: COTM - #137 - New Year's Fusion
Happy Monday!
Y'all really need to check out Mooniverse today @ 12noon (e.s.t.). It is an exceptional show, if I might say so myself. But if you don't believe me, ask anyone that heard it last Friday. I have Jeff Beck with Jan Hammer Group, Brand X Livestock and introducing (to many) Canadian Fusion group Sloche. I hope to see you there. d
