Re: BB King

Why mailotron I stated the exact same words...and so I will add:

The Thrill is Gone...but the music lives on and on, let us listen and be glad...adieu BB King adieu

Re: BB King

The King of blues will live on in the music of all who heard him.

I gave him a small tribute at the end of this week's COTM and oddly enough it was one that included David Gilmour sharing the lead.

Building on what Mailotron said... most of us like jazz to one degree of another. The basis of Jazz grew out of the blues. Fortunately BB King left behind an amazing discography for us all to enjoy. The lose, however, is still huge.

Goodnight Lucille.

Re: BB King

Mississippi loses another shining light. B.B. King joins the pantheon of late, great Mississippi musicians: Robert Johnson, Elvis Presley, Mahalia Jackson, Willie King, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Sam Cooke, Muddy Waters, Tammy Wynette, Hank Jones, Jimmie Lunceford, Lester Young, Jimmy Reed, Jimmie Rodgers, Conway Twitty, Sonny Boy Williams II, Howlin' Wolf, Pinetop Perkins, and pieces of Blind Melon.

Fortunately, we've still got Charley Pride, Ike Turner, Robert Walker, and Ace Cannon.

Unfortunately, we also have to claim Lance Bass, Britney Spears, 3 Doors Down, and LeAnn Rimes.
