Good Free Prog Music
Hi there,
I am trying to gather names of good Free Prog Groups. What I mean by that is that they are progressive, sound (near) professional and have choosen to be available freely as mp3s on the net. Here are some names I have found so far: Life 9, ATom2, Chiwawa, Sutrobath, Azure Feast, ... Please add to the list. There is good free prog music our there ! Marc.

What you asking about is not indie - Indie means that the band is represented by a label independent of a major record label. Almost all prog being released today is indie (Porcupine Tree being the only one that really comes to mind). Even Yes is on an indie label now.
You're talking about free music, I suppose - bands that are trying to get exposure by releasing free whole tracks or albums on the net? Avian |

Mmh, it is very quiet here. We would at least need a third vote to identify a clear winner

Hey great, we had a third vote . For Chiwawa this time...
Wouldn't it be great to give a bit more momentum to this and come to a conclusion ? Marc.

I found Zambow, Gravity Willing and Difference Engine, they're good and, as far as I know unsigned.
I've got a whole list of songs I found that were spectacularly good by unsigned bands, although not all fit in the "prog" category. See if you can find "Come away Clean" by Padrick Toman. It's just acoustic guitar and voice and it's about the most poignant "love lost" song I've ever heard. I'll post links if asked, but don't want to be accused of spamming.
